About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, my name is Aoife, I am a BACP registered therapist based in West London.
Through my own personal experience and working as a counsellor I understand how life can be hard and we can struggle to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Counselling allows us to work through that struggle together and help you to gain confidence in yourself and your decisions. I believe in the importance of learning how to navigate your brain, your way.
I use my qualifications to provide specialist counselling and psychotherapy to people who want to change their relationship with themselves and others, improve their self-confidence and find happiness and balance in their day to day lives.
I also use my creative background to help enhance my counselling work with clients who may find it useful. I may bring in creative methods of therapy such as art, writing and drama etc.
Practice description
I use an integrative approach, this means I have studied a range of different psychotherapeutic theories that I can use to tailor my approach to your specific needs.
My aim is to create a space that is warm, flexible and adaptable to you and your pace.
I believe in changing the way we talk to ourselves, by doing this we are able to build self confidence which allows us to have resilience and optimism for the future.
Life will still throw curve balls but therapy allows you to find coping mechanisms and courage to face them.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute session to see if I am the right person for you.
We will go over what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to work on.
This may be just talking and releasing what you've been holding in for a while or it could be creating a plan of action with setting goals in a time frame you would like to work towards.
We will then discuss how often you would like to have sessions and what moving forward will look like. We will have check-ins throughout the process to monitor or modify the work we are doing together.
