About me and my therapy practice

I am passionate about people and their stories, believing deeply in the power of each individual's unique narrative. My approach to therapy is integrative and humanistic, tailored to meet each person's specific needs. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process; the best method is the one that works best for you. As such, my approach is holistic and outside the box, incorporating various methods to fit each unique experience. My therapeutic style is grounded in authenticity, empowerment, transparency, and respect.

My work is driven by genuine care and a deep passion for people. It’s not about labels for me, but about understanding each individual’s unique story and how it shapes them. I strive to truly see, hear, and value my clients for who they are. If you're seeking a counsellor who is deeply committed to your well-being, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can navigate your journey towards healing and personal growth, helping you find your path to your own "happily ever after."

My philosophy as a therapist is underpinned by a strong belief in genuine compassion. I value every individual’s unique story and aspire to understand and support them as we move forward together. Each person is more than just a number to me – they are a unique individual with a distinct narrative.

My goal is to ensure you feel supported and empowered from the very beginning. Whether we meet in person, via telephone, video, or online messaging, I am committed to providing a non-judgemental and confidential space where you can express yourself freely. It’s crucial for you to feel comfortable and understood in our therapeutic relationship, and I hope that getting to know me a bit can build that foundation of trust. In our sessions, I always strive to balance professionalism with a warm and friendly approach. I’m committed to creating an environment where you feel genuinely heard and understood, while also being challenged in a respectful and constructive way

Practice description

Welcome to my practice, where I provide compassionate, professional support for your mental well-being. Originally from Liverpool, I now live in East Devon with my two dogs. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of individuals, including members of the GSRD (Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diverse) communities, survivors of domestic violence, and military personnel. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, long-term health issues, work stress, relationship problems, identity concerns, or difficult life events, I’m here to help. I became a therapist to assist those who may have struggled to find the support they need elsewhere. I’m dedicated to helping people who sometimes feel overlooked and unheard.

I offer flexible therapy options, including telephone, video, online messaging, and in-person sessions. In-person sessions can take place in traditional settings or through therapeutic walks on Budleigh Beach. Inclusivity and accessibility are at the heart of my practice. I strive to make therapy available to everyone, offering various financial options and scheduling flexibility. My commitment to inclusivity ensures that I understand and respect the unique challenges faced by each individual.

To enhance your therapeutic experience, I offer supplementary tools through a subscription-based service called The Sapphire Space. Our mission at The Sapphire Space is to revolutionise mental health support by creating a compassionate, accessible, and authentic platform. Here, you can access personalised resources, expert guidance, and a supportive community. We emphasise choice and flexibility, ensuring our approach is tailored to your needs.  This technological support complements our in-person or virtual therapy sessions, offering you continuous support and additional tools to manage your mental health effectively.

My first session

Your first session with me is a crucial step towards building a therapeutic relationship. I understand that starting therapy can be daunting, and I aim to make this initial meeting as comfortable and informative as possible.

During our first session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and your goals. This is an opportunity for you to share your story and for me to understand your unique needs. I will explain my therapeutic approach, the methods I use, and how we can work together to address your goals.

I offer a reduced rate for the first session to make it more accessible and allow you to experience my approach without a significant financial commitment. This session typically lasts 20 minutes and costs £15, providing ample time to explore your needs and establish a plan for our future work together.

Before our first session, I may ask you to complete a brief assessment form. This helps me gain a better understanding of your background and current situation, allowing us to make the most of our time together. The assessment covers areas such as your mental health history, current symptoms or challenges, and your goals for therapy.

Starting therapy is a brave step towards a more fulfilling life. I am here to guide and support you through this process, helping you build resilience, develop coping strategies, and achieve personal growth.
