About me and my therapy practice
I am a registered counsellor with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and in the final stages of completing my doctoral training as a counselling psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I am also a registered member of British Psychological Society (BPS) and BPS Division of Counselling Psychology. This means that I am committed to ethical, reflective and professional practice of counselling and psychological therapies, working collaboratively with clients to provide high-quality services, drawing on evidence-based psychological practice in the context of a therapeutic relationship characterised by trust, respect, and appreciation for the subjective experience of the person and individuality of the client and their unique world view.
As a counsellor and therapist, I am committed to offering you a safe, compassionate, reflective and confidential space, either online or in person, where we can explore your thoughts and feelings, life’s contradictions and challenges. Further, I am committed to providing a therapeutic relationship that is based on acceptance, compassion, warmth, respect and honesty. Research supports that these are essential conditions and core components in successful therapy.
Practice description
Counselling and psychotherapy aim to help people to deal with emotional difficulties and issues that are causing pain or suffering for the individual.
Our therapeutic work together can help you make connections between past events and present behaviour patterns. It can help you to understand how you are relating to yourself, to your body, to the problem areas in your life, and other people around you. By understanding better your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and also your physical symptoms and what is happening in your body, you can start to develop more useful ways of relating to events and situations, leading to experiences of more joy, clarity, meaning and purpose in your life. The increased self-awareness can help you to make better choices, to manage with uncertainties and challenges with better resiliency.
I work in ways that have been proven effective due to solid psychological evidence base to relieve suffering and to promote emotional wellbeing. I am trained and have clinical experience in a wide range of different therapeutic approaches, such as Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Systemic Therapy and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT). My practice is informed by Neuroscience, Mindfulness based and sensorimotor psychotherapy elements recognising the holistic mind-body-spirit view of human being. In the service of our work, I am able to integrate useful aspects and draw from different evidence-based modalities and techniques to support my clients, based on your individual needs, as different approaches can be helpful in different issues.
I work with clients worldwide online and see clients in person in Zürich.
