About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist (Integrative-Relational) and initially trained with CRUSE, a national bereavement charity, before undertaking professional qualification. My original career background was based in coaching, training and recruitment. I have a special interest in delivery therapy support for the Carers Network, as well as working in private practice. I also live with non-visible disabilities, that have ultimately serve to inform and enrich my empathy, acceptance and understanding, and to broaden the scope of my practice.
Integrative(Relational) training has given me knowledge of how to utilize a range of approaches, in attempting to understand the issues at heart, as well as the skills to collaborate and craft a bespoke response and approach with individual clients. This approach is fully guided by the professional standards of safe, ethical practice, bound by the BACP. I am fully insured and supported by a experienced and senior clinician.
Practice description
My approach is strongly invested in the nurture of a one to one relationship, that is confidential, respectful and always Kind. After a few sessions, You will decide if we are a 'fit' and if trusting in a therapeutic relationship, has the potential to support and help. If yes, then we can build on this knowledge, and work to create a trustful, safe place in which to explore the key events in your life, - relationships, stress, pain, hurt and loss; the secret history of inner and outer worlds both past and present. I will listen with compassion and care for your well-being, always.
As an Integrative therapist, I may draw on elements of psycho-dynamic, person-centered and humanistic theories to gain a shared insight and understanding of your personal narrative, that in time, may in turn inform and enable your choices for the way ahead. I will also be drawing on a wide range of creative resources to support our work together.
My first session
I offer an initial half-hour telephone session, by way of an introduction, for which there is no fee. Our first full session will take up to an hour and fifteen minutes, during which I will need to take various personal details, which form an assessment.
Therapy sessions are for the duration of 50 minutes, thereafter we will agree the number of sessions to be undertaken. Payment is respectively requested prior to the session.
I offer 2 x concessionary counselling places, for which there is a waiting list.
