About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and a warm welcome. I'm Kate.
Are you at breaking point? Perhaps you’ve recently experienced a bereavement or a change in circumstances. Maybe you’re struggling in a relationship, have had an affair, or been given an ultimatum.
You may be feeling sad or anxious about the future, that you’re alone and suffering unbearable pain and feel unable to cope.
I understand how difficult it is to cope with unwanted change. How painful it is whilst going through loss and grief. How change can impact relationships and increase feelings of isolation, especially while you’re experiencing relationship challenges.
How I can Help?
My training is in working with relationships and I’m a hospice therapist with experience of supporting people facing life limiting illnesses, and their families and friends. I’ve also worked in a charity for gambling addictions.
I can help by supporting you to feel less alone and for you to experience that someone does understand in a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space, for you to talk freely about how you feel. This will help you to start to feel you can live around your grief and be able to cope during challenges and to adapt to your new world. To improve your communications, have stronger relationships and start to be able to understand your difficulties by learning more about yourself, find different ways to cope and find strength to build healthier relationships.
Practice description
Working Together
My approach is about helping people with their relationships, improving communication and help you navigate through your loss and grief.
At the heart of us working together is building a relationship. I believe this is a key factor for you to feel satisfied with your outcome of therapy. Therefore, I offer a free 15-minute phone call for you to have the opportunity to see if I am the right counsellor for you, and whether I can meet your needs.
Clients often say they feel empowered to take back control of their lives and they can look forward to a more satisfying future.
To get started and to book a free 15 minute phone consultation, please contact me using the details provided at the top of this page.
I look forward to hearing from you.
My first session
After our first contact by phone or e-mail, we will arrange for a one-hour assessment, which will enable us to discuss what has prompted you to seek counselling, a little of your life story, your past and current relationships, and your expectations of therapy. It also gives you the opportunity to ask any further questions you may have from our initial contact.
Thereafter, subsequent sessions will be fifty minutes long and once weekly, unless otherwise agreed. It is important for effective therapy that we try to maintain a regular and continuous commitment.
We are all unique and so are our experiences and so we don’t limit sessions, however we will review them regularly to see how you feel our sessions and our work together is going and if we are working towards your desired outcomes.
