About me and my therapy practice
If you feel fearful, stressed, in pain, upset, lost, angry, or something else, I can help you. I’ll help you work through difficult emotions and resolve trauma so you gain awareness and insight, find inner peace, happiness and a sense of purpose.
I can help you with your mental health and wellbeing including anxiety, depression and stress, relationship challenges, work challenges, trauma, bullying, spirituality, food issues, addictions and bereavement. I can help you increase your self-awareness and self-knowledge, so you have more choices about how you respond to feelings, other people and situations. I’ll help you explore questions of meaning and purpose.- I’m an integrative therapist. This means I'm trained in various types of therapy and can choose the approach that will suit who you are and will be most helpful to you.
- One of the approaches that I use is psychosynthesis. This approach helps you understand yourself and how you interact with others better. Psychosynthesis also helps you to 'step back' from your symptoms and experience calm.
- I've been working therapeutically for 20+ years, which means I have the experience to work in ways that will most likely be supportive and helpful to you.
- The supportive, empathic and dynamic therapeutic relationship I establish with my clients also contributes to their wellbeing.
- Many therapists focus on empathy and listening. These are important but not, I feel, the whole story. A key part of my work is helping you to gain insight about your issues and circumstances so you can open up new choices for yourself and improve your life.
Working with me as your therapist we can work towards you feeling calmer and happier in all aspects of your life. Other benefits of your psychotherapy may include more clarity about what you want in your life, more assertiveness so you can communicate your wants and needs to others and more motivation and will to action.
Practice description
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy (Level 7 - masters equivalent) from the Psychosynthesis Trust, London and am a registered member of the BACP.
I am trained in an integrative style of psychotherapy which includes psychosynthesis, psychodynamic, person-centred, gestalt and transpersonal psychotherapy. This means that I can flex my approach and style and work with you in a way that best suits your individual preferences and respond to what feels meaningful and purposeful to you.
I take a holistic approach; working with feelings, the mind and the body. This can help you resolve conscious and unconscious internal conflicts. Such conflicts can lead to fixed patterns of thinking and behaviour and leave you feeling powerless. Through resolving such conflicts you will increase your self-awareness, open up more choices for yourself about how to live your life on purpose. It can also release new energy for you.
In my work I help my clients look beyond the challenges they are currently experiencing in their lives so as to help them connect with their emerging potential for growth and personal development.
I often work creatively through imagework and metaphor. This can help clients who often engage in a ‘mental space’, to broaden their self-awareness and self-knowledge which paves the way to live more authentically.
I am also a qualified and experienced executive coach, life coach and business coach.
I have specialist expertise helping career professionals with workplace relationships, workplace stress, career transitions, career development, workplace bullying, overwhelm and work addiction.
I have senior business experience and am qualified in business (MBA). Clients tell me that my business expertise makes them feel I understand their working environment and the demands of same and this helps us build rapport.
