About me and my therapy practice
INDIVIDUAL ADULT THERAPY AND COUPLE THERAPY
Have things become too much for you just recently? Are you struggling to cope? Do you find yourself trapped in a loop of negative thinking? Maybe anxiety has become difficult to manage or you feel like you are crashing into a depression?
You’ll be pleased to know that it will pass. The way we engage with the world and our patterns of relating to one another can be changed which can make us happier and calmer. With my help you might find you can start to move into a new phase of your life. Free of the suffering, the negative patterns and any anxiety or depression that you think may be creeping up on you.
It has been proven that the relationship between the therapist and the client can greatly improve the awareness of the client's relationship with others outside of the therapy space.. The work we can do together could change your life.
Things can get better and you have made the first step by thinking of counselling and I applaud you for that.
I offer Therapeutic counselling for lots of people. Some of the issues that I work with are stress, anxiety, depression, isolation, relationship problems, moving house, work issues and many more life problems that interrupt our ability to live a free and happy life. I am working face to face from my consulting room in between Tooting Bec and Balham station.
I am also working with many couples at the moment to uncover unconscious communication issues. Sometimes we don’t realise what we are putting in the way and a therapist with a safe space can be the key to unlocking a much happier relationship.
I am also a yoga instructor and offer mindfulness if relevant.
I am supervised monthly and I work towards the BACP's code of ethics. You can find more information about them on BACP website.
Training, qualifications & experience
-Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
-Advanced Yoga Instructor
-Restorative and therapeutic yoga and techniques to combat anxiety and depression.

Practice description
My work is "integrative" which means I combine two theories together whilst working with my clients.
The Psychodynamic theory looks into the past to identify patterns of behaviour and thinking. Sometimes these patterns keep on repeating themselves and can then cause us anxiety, stress, overwhelm and depression. They can also lead to more serious mental health problems and as such its good to find them and pull them out like weeds.
This Psychodynamic work is always underpinned by the person centred theory that clients need. This includes lots of empathy, and unconditional positive regard to help the client feel like they can really express themselves and become the person they want to become. I believe this is possible for all of us given the right space and a therapist who is truly authentic. We all possess the ability to get better but we might not know how.
My first session
The first session is assessment based so I will most likely be writing down lots of key bits of information from my client.
Its important to know the date of birth, family history, medications, what experience the client has with counselling, credentials and then some time spent on the presenting issues.
It is this session that gives us both an idea of what working together will look and feel like going forward.

Practice description
I offer counselling for lots of people. Some of the issues that I work with are stress, anxiety, depression, isolation, relationship problems, moving house, work issues and many more life problems that interrupt our ability to live a free and happy life. I have a consulting room in Harley st in the centre of town within easy access of Oxford Circus tube.
I am currently working with many couples at the moment to uncover unconscious communication issues. Sometimes we don’t realise what we are putting in the way and a therapist with a safe space can be the key to unlocking a much happier relationship.
I am also a yoga instructor and offer mindfulness if relevant. I am a big believer in creating a holistic and well rounded care package for my clients. This includes mental health hygiene and sometimes somatic insights.
I am supervised monthly and I work towards the BACP's code of ethics. You can find more information about them on BACP website.
I draw on lots of different theories and experts to influence my couples work.
I am a certified psychosexual couples therapist and believe fully in coaching couples about concious communication. The power of this method is phenomenal. I also have a bank of useful tools and exercises designed to get couples back on track.
My first session
The first session is called an assessment (although informal). This will allow me to gather as much information from you as is necessary for our relationship to develop and the work to begin.
It will give us an excellent idea about what working together will be like. We can also develop a small and casual plan forward. How many sessions, frequency of sessions, your goals and any other pertinent questions.
You will be able to tell me exactly what you are looking to get out of our sessions.
