About me and my therapy practice
I tend to work mostly with Adults on a one to one, face to face basis.
I have a degree in Psychology and have had formal training in Integrative Counselling and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
The core of my therapeutic work is based on the Person Centered Approach established by Carl Rogers; and I have special interests in Transactional Analysis, Ecopsychotherapy and Jungian Psychology (all of which I have done extended CPD on). My approach tends to be client led - establishing with people what approach, tools and methods work best for them, and developing the work in a collaborative and jointly owned way.
I worked for 30yrs as a senior manager in the NHS and have additional training and experience in leadership development. As well as psychotherapeutic counselling I can also provide individual or team support as a coach and/or mentor.
Practice description
Sessions are usually for the standard 50-60 minutes; but longer times are available if felt necessary.
I am operating out of a dedicated therapy room at home, in a small village in West Dorset a few miles East of Bridport.
The locality will support Walk and Talk opportunities in the neighbouring countryside, which, if it is called for, I tend to introduce after a few initial sessions on site.
Zoom and Telephone sessions are available if preferred.
