About me and my therapy practice
Supporting Your Child or Teenager Through Life’s Challenges
If your child or teenager is struggling and you’re unsure how to help, it can feel overwhelming. You might experience feelings of frustration, helplessness, and fear for their future. As a parent, it’s heartbreaking to see your child hurting without knowing how to guide them through it.
You don’t have to face this journey alone.
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor with over 20 years of experience working with young people, both as an arts teacher and now as a therapeutic counsellor. I understand how difficult it can be when your child or teenager is unable to express what they're going through, or when traditional communication just doesn’t seem to work.
A Creative, Collaborative Approach:
I work collaboratively with children and their families, using a range of therapeutic techniques tailored to each individual’s needs. Whether through the arts, talk therapy, or other creative methods, we explore the thoughts and feelings behind everyday struggles. For young people, especially those who have difficulty expressing themselves verbally, art and play can provide a vital outlet for their emotions and help them communicate in ways that words alone cannot.
I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where your child can feel heard, understood, and supported. Together, we explore the challenges they face, helping them develop the emotional resilience and coping strategies they need to navigate life with greater ease and confidence.

How I Can Help:
Offer a safe and supportive space for your child to explore their emotions through creative activities like drawing, painting, and storytelling without fear of judgment.
Use a tailored approach to therapy, incorporating art, play, and traditional counselling techniques depending on the needs of the client.
Work collaboratively with families, helping you understand your child’s experience and providing you with the tools to support them at home.
Help your child gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts and feelings, leading to greater self-awareness and emotional resilience.
The Relief of a Happier, Calmer Home
One of the most rewarding aspects of working with young people and their families is seeing the positive shift in the home environment. It’s a relief for parents when the household becomes happier, calmer, and more connected. Parents often walk away not just with a deeper understanding of their child’s struggles, but also with a set of practical tools they can use together in the future, whenever life gets tough.
Life simply feels easier. And with that newfound ease comes a renewed sense of hope—for your child, for your family, and for the future.

My first session
Your First Session: What to Expect
Taking the first step toward seeking support can feel daunting. It’s natural to have questions and uncertainties about what therapy involves, especially if this is a new experience for you or your child.
To make this process easier, I offer a free 20-minute, no-obligation telephone consultation. This gives us a chance to briefly discuss your concerns, and for you to ask any questions you might have. Together, we can explore whether therapy would be helpful and if an initial online appointment would be the next step.
Initial Assessment Session:
If we decide to move forward, the next step is the initial assessment appointment, which typically lasts up to 75 minutes. During this session, we’ll cover:
An in-depth discussion about the current situation and the challenges you or your child are facing.
The reasons for seeking therapy, and what you hope to achieve from it.
An exploration of the most appropriate therapeutic approach based on your needs.
A conversation about whether I am the right person to support you on this journey.
At the end of this session, you’ll have the opportunity to decide whether I’m the right fit to help. If so, we can arrange further sessions.
How Long Will Therapy Take?
You’re not obligated to commit to a specific number of sessions upfront. However, I generally recommend 7 sessions to give us enough time to establish a therapeutic relationship, explore the issues in depth, and begin to see progress.
At the 7th session, we will do a progress review to discuss how things are going and whether continuing therapy would be helpful. This allows us to reflect on the work we’ve done and decide on the best way forward.

About me and my therapy practice
Struggling with Imposter Syndrome or Procrastination?
Do you often feel like you’re not good enough despite clear evidence of your success? Do you fear being “found out” as a fraud, even though you’re capable and competent? Or perhaps you find yourself procrastinating—putting off important tasks. If these feelings are holding you back and creating constant stress, you’re not alone. Help is available.
I am an Arts Therapeutic Counsellor and EMDR Therapist with over 20 years of experience as a Teacher, Arts Therapeutic Counsellor, and EMDR Therapist. Whether you’re struggling with a deep sense of inadequacy, overwhelming fear of failure, or self-sabotage, I offer a compassionate, creative, holistic approach to help you break free from these patterns and reclaim your confidence and motivation.
Imposter Syndrome?
Imposter syndrome is a psychological pattern in which individuals doubt their accomplishments and live in constant fear that they’ll be “found out” as frauds despite evidence to the contrary.
This feeling of constantly striving for perfection and battling self-doubt. If you struggle to internalise your achievements and feel like you're pretending, this cycle can be exhausting and isolating.
How Procrastination Plays a Role
Procrastination often goes hand in hand with imposter syndrome. When you're paralysed by self-doubt or fear of failure, you may avoid important tasks to protect yourself from the possibility of making mistakes or being judged.
The longer you put things off, the more stress and anxiety build up, which only intensifies fear and self-doubt.
A Compassionate, Creative Approach to Healing
I understand how frustrating it can be to feel stuck in a cycle of self-doubt and procrastination. That’s why I offer a holistic and creative approach to therapy that combines art therapy with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This integrated approach helps you process negative beliefs and emotions and begin to take action toward your goals
Practice description
The arts and creative activities allow a safe expression of what’s going on within ourselves, bringing clarity to confusing emotions and hidden fears. You don’t need to be an artist to benefit from this approach. The goal is not to create something perfect but to use the process of creating to gain insights, release tension, and find relief.
How EMDR Can Help
In addition to the therapeutic arts, I also use EMDR to help clients process emotional blocks that contribute to imposter syndrome and procrastination. EMDR is a trauma-informed therapy that’s particularly effective at helping people reprocess past memories and experiences that fuel anxiety, fear, and self-doubt.
Why This Approach Works
The combination of EMDR and creative therapies helps you identify the root causes of your self-doubt, release limiting beliefs, and begin to make positive changes that allow you to move forward with greater ease and confidence.
The benefits of this work include:
Increased self-acceptance: By processing the negative beliefs that fuel your imposter syndrome, you’ll begin to accept your own abilities and feel more secure in your successes.
Improved productivity: By breaking the cycle of procrastination, you’ll find yourself tackling tasks with greater ease and efficiency. You’ll learn to manage perfectionism and set realistic expectations for yourself.
Reduced anxiety and stress: As you process past experiences and beliefs, you’ll notice a reduction in the anxiety and self-doubt that have been holding you back. You’ll start to feel more at ease with your abilities and your progress.
You Don’t Have to Do This Alone
If you’re ready to break free from the cycle of imposter syndrome and procrastination, I am here to help. Take the first step today. Together, we can work through these challenges, help you process your emotions, and develop strategies for building the confidence you need to live the life you deserve.
