About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified, experienced psychotherapist working with couples and individuals, of all sexualities, who are looking for a confidential space in which to explore relationship concerns. I have a PG Dip and MA (distinction) in Couple & Individual psychodynamic counselling & psychotherapy from Tavistock Relationships, a long-standing, world-renowned institution specialising in relationship therapy. I continue to see clients there alongside my private practice.
Relationships can be hard. We can find ourselves stuck in unhelpful patterns; life can throw us real challenges; different life stages bring up issues; and maintaining a long relationship takes work. Some of the issues I work with include:
- repetitive arguments
- festering resentments
- communication problems
- trust issues
- redundancy
- bereavement
- betrayal
- infidelity
- retirement
- fertility issues
- parenting
- adult children leaving home
- ageing and illness
- low sexual desire
- boredom
- repeating partner choice
- difficulties sustaining relationships
- divorce and separation
I work with couples together on relationship issues. I also see individuals who would prefer to attend without their partner, or who have relationship concerns of a more general nature. In a non-judgemental, safe space, we can work through these issues together.
Practice description
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist. Psychodynamic psychotherapy rests on the understanding that early experiences affect thoughts, ideas and patterns that we carry with us through life. Sometimes these can become problematic. Understanding where they come from can be incredibly freeing.
Thinking psychodynamically, I look at the whole person - your history, your current circumstances, your beliefs, hopes, ideas - because all aspects of your story are important.
My first session
I offer an initial consultation of 50 minutes during which we speak about your situation, in order to see if I would be the right person to help you. Talking about feelings and worries can feel difficult so it is important that you find someone you feel comfortable with.
Following the initial consultation, I offer weekly 50-minute sessions at the same time each week. Consultations and regular sessions are charged at the same rate.
I use Zoom, a secure web-based video platform to conduct online therapy sessions. Zoom is reliable and straightforward to use. I also see clients at my consulting room in East Finchley, London, N2.
What I can help with
Anxiety, Bereavement, Child related issues, Depression, Identity issues, Infertility, Loss, Men's issues, Personal development, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Stress, Women's issues
