About me and my therapy practice
I offer counselling in Bradford on Avon and online. If life's a struggle for you right now, please get in touch. I offer a warm and understanding approach where you will soon be able to feel at ease. You're very welcome to contact me to arrange a free half hour no-obligation chat on Zoom or phone, or to ask me any questions you may have.
I love the work I do which helps clients to find their inner confidence and calm, gain a more compassionate understanding of themselves, their relationships and their situations, and move forward towards a more satisfying way of living. I'm a qualified and experienced therapist & counsellor and registered member of the BACP. Let's see how we can share this part of your journey forwards together.
Working with me can support you to:
• gain a greater awareness, trust, and compassionate understanding of yourself. You’ll learn practical and effective ways to support your wellbeing too. This can help you feel more present and more at peace in your daily life.
• understand your relationships and situations, helping you to stop repeating the same unhelpful patterns over again.
• find your inner confidence and authentic voice, enabling you to stand up for yourself and say ‘no’ to the things that aren’t right for you without feeling bad.
• take control of your life and move forward towards a more satisfying and joyous way of living which is right for you!
Please get in touch if you would like to learn more.
Practice description
I am an experienced integrative practitioner, which means I am not fixed to one theory of counselling. I work with the client in a way that respects their own individual needs and preferences.
I offer sessions face to face in my therapy room in the heart of Bradford on Avon, by Zoom online, by telephone, and outdoors with Walk and Talk therapy. I work with individual adults aged 18+.
How I work with clients
My aim is to listen deeply to what you choose to bring to counselling and to hold your experience of whatever is going on in your life with care, compassion and without judgement, giving us a safe space to explore and re-evaluate what is important to you and where you might like to go from here.
All this at a pace to suit you, as we learn to take the pressure off and let things unfold naturally. I follow your lead and I may make suggestions along the way which you are free to explore or decline. I value your autonomy; your freedom to choose your own path and I will endeavour to foster it whenever I can.
I’m drawn to work in a holistic way, because we’re not computer heads bolted onto robot bodies; we are complex, embodied beings. As we become more in tune with all aspects of ourselves, including our bodies, our lives can transform. So therapy can be about working with awareness of sensation, feelings and movement in the body, working with mind imagery, as well as through talking, and only if you wish to work this way.
Working with self-compassion is also an important part of my practice.
Embracing diversity
My aim is to provide a safe and inclusive space where all people feel welcomed, valued and affirmed for who they are with their own unique identity.
My first session
I believe it's really important you find a therapist you feel comfortable with and feel you can trust. That's why I offer potential clients the opportunity to have a free half hour telephone or Zoom appointment with me to see if we are suited to work together. If you'd like to arrange an introductory call, please let me know when might be a good time for us to get in touch in the next few days.
The next step would then be an assessment session, where we would get a broader picture of you as you are now, some of your history and explore how we might work together after the assessment to help get you to where you want to be. We would then decide on a number of sessions to start our journey together.
Please contact me if you would like to find out more.
