About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling exhausted, anxious, tearful, or emotionally low? Constantly questioning yourself and others, wondering what's wrong? Overwhelmed by worries, even about the smallest issues? Isolated, pressured, and burdened by your thoughts, feelings, and emotions? Noticed changes in behaviour or health?
Life can be overwhelming, traumatic, and challenging, leaving you feeling low, fearful, confused, and anxious. Daily tasks become difficult, relationships suffer, and a sense of loneliness and aimlessness creeps in. It's as if nothing makes sense while days pass by.
Taking that first step towards help and support can be daunting. Finding someone compassionate who accepts your vulnerability, values your uniqueness, and listens without judgment or criticism requires trust and patience.
Building trust is even more challenging when facing emotional conflicts. But with time and the right conditions, an honest therapeutic relationship can develop. A reliable, ethical therapist enables meaningful change. This safe space helps make sense of experiences, reshaping your future.
With my unwavering commitment, I will support you ethically. Drawing on my framework and experience, we will navigate life's obstacles. I will support guided explorations to restore strength, inner peace, resilience and together, we will uncover new ways to understand yourself and embrace the present. We will look to explore tools and strategies that can help you manage challenges, and empower you to unlock your potential.
For over 20 years, I have supported individuals, fostering positive change. My journey began in 2007, sparked by personal illness and career change. Empowering individuals, combining my passions, careers, and integrity, is my driving force. I'm honoured to work with diverse individuals, regardless of age, witnessing their growth and transformation.
Practice description
I approach my work from a humanistic perspective, firmly believing in the potential and capacity of humans to achieve self-acceptance and personal growth. Creating a compassionate and secure environment is essential to support your journey.
I offer a private, welcoming, space exclusively to help you navigate, explore, and untangle the complexities of your often confusing and conflicting feelings, thoughts, emotions, and the resulting uncomfortable behaviours. My aim is to establish a trusting, empathetic, compassionate, and validating relationship that employs necessary processes leading to awareness, understanding, and self-discovery. This journey becomes a catalyst for acceptance, self-awareness, integrity, and personal growth.
During our initial session, through open dialogue, we can determine which therapeutic approach best suits you and your journey. It could involve creative techniques, imagery, transactional analysis, cognitive-behavioural techniques, or simply sitting, listening, and adopting a person-centred perspective. You are the expert in your own process, and I will tailor my professional approach to suit your needs.
There may be moments in your journey that feel uncomfortable and challenging. However, within our therapeutic relationship, my hope is that we can gradually find comfort within discomfort. It may take time and courage to reach that place within yourself, but the journey will be transformative, fostering self-understanding and discovery that can have a ripple effect on those around you.
Pricing - I offer a sliding scale for my services, taking affordability into account.
My first session
Our first 30-minute session is complimentary and serves as an introduction for both of us. It provides an opportunity for you to ask questions about me and my practice, and to witness how I operate within my ethical professional capacity and practice standards.
I understand that each client's situation is unique, and I adapt my approach and work to suit their individual needs and comfort levels in an ethical manner.
As an integrative counsellor, I combine various approaches such as the humanistic Person-Centred approach, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, Mindfulness, and humanistic creative techniques. During his initial process we collaboratively identify which therapeutic approach aligns best with you, aiming to find the most suitable path for your growth and well-being.
During our sessions, we will discuss the contract; our working agreement, which includes important aspects such as confidentiality, legal requirements, safety measures, data protection, and appointment information.
If you are considering counselling or psychotherapy, feel free to contact me via email or phone to schedule an initial appointment.
Every one of my client’s lives and situations are different and my approach and work with them has been ethically tailored to suit their needs and comfort.

About me and my therapy practice
Background
I qualified as an Integrative Counsellor in 2012 and over the years I have been involved in the development of various courses of different levels, and in teaching everything from access courses to Level 5. This has involved holding trainee group and individual supervision sessions. I also developed and ran a free community counselling service for a local Social Enterprise and am in private practice as Cornwall Therapy.
I have many hours of individual and group supervision experience with non-qualified trainees and qualified counsellors within Devon and Cornwall.
Counselling and Psychotherapy
I work online, face to face, and by phone using various theories, approaches, creativity and skills according to my clients' needs. Approach include Person Centred, Gestalt, CBT, TA, Attachment, Family Systems Therapy, Body Process etc. and I am an outdoor therapist. I bring this breadth of experience and philosophy to my Clinical Supervisory relationships.
My Clinical Supervision focuses on a shared endeavour; a collaborative relationship fostering honesty, empathy, creativity and confidence. This will be your space to cultivate skills, knowledge and awareness, to develop and hone your professional identity and integrity, and to take advantage of the right guidance and support in reaching your true potential as an ethical Counsellor/Psychotherapist.
My work is underpinned by the BACP ethical framework (and the NCS) and I also have regular supervision. I am also fully insured and CRB checked.
It is important that you feel safe and comfortable with your choice of Clinical Supervisor, as it is with your Counsellor, so please feel free to call, or email to discuss your needs.
