About me and my therapy practice
I believe that no one is an island. The human need to connect, to be seen, and to be truly heard are at the centre of my work. With an integrative background and an instinctive approach, I am able to meet my clients in whichever way is most beneficial for them. I use a Person-Centred approach to help clients to become the best version of themselves, or might draw from Psychodynamic teaching to accompany clients on their journey into the past to identify historical issues that are affecting their lives in the present. If required, we can also work on very concrete issues by using CBT techniques or EMDR.
To say it with Friedrich Nietzsche: ‘Become the person you are.’ I will work on understanding and accepting yourself. Some feelings might make us uncomfortable, but they too need to be honoured. My work aims to be empowering, supporting clients to live a self-determined life, overcoming loss, regaining a sense of identity and facilitating post-traumatic growth.
Having worked in Public Relations for many years, I understand the importance of relationships and the impact they can have on a client’s life. Feelings of isolation, loss of self-worth and identity need to be explored in a wider context to come to a place of acknowledgement, acceptance, and eventually, healing.
For me, being a therapist means walking alongside my clients, being present to help look in places where it hurts the most, exploring the 'ugly', and celebrating the good.
I enjoy and have experience of working with diversity and therefore welcome people from all communities, ethnicities, cultures, and sexualities to my practice.

Client testimonials
I can't express how helpful my sessions with Kat have been. I have suffered from anxiety and bouts of depression my whole life and during our time working together, she helped me see the distorted ways I was viewing myself and the world around me. Her style of therapy gave me the space I needed to learn to trust myself and to explore the root causes of my fears and triggers. It was extremely healing for me in so many ways. - G.R.
Kat has been amazing. Her mix of approaches were really useful when supporting me with a range of issues. She was incredible at remembering what I had said in previous sessions, helping me to link everything together and challenging me to look at things with a different lens - whilst also giving practical tools to help me grow. I couldn’t recommend her enough. - E.B.
I originally signed on with Katharina to address my skin-picking but later was able to go into the underlying reasons as to why I pick at my skin. I felt heard and appreciated and began to understand my own thought processes and where my insecurities and anxieties come from. Katharina helped me access the tools I need to address such. I’ve massively improved with my skin-picking but also have benefited in many other aspects of my life, especially when it comes to my self-worth. I fully recommend Katharina as a therapist as the positive impact our sessions have had on my over well-being is tremendous. - T.C.
You've helped me be more like myself than I've ever really felt before. You've guided me through the lows, and helped me get myself to the highs and I'll be forever grateful. You took the time to know me, work with me and build a style of therapy which was what I responded to and what I needed. - J.V.
My first session
As the therapeutic relationship is integral to my approach, getting to know each other and making sure we are the right fit is important. I will be asking questions to find out what you came to achieve/what you need and how I can best support you. I like to be very transparent and am always happy to answer any questions you might have. There is no pressure to continue if you do not feel that I can help you.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor with a private practice and have taken the next step to become a clinical supervisor (Level 6). I am keen to find a psychotherapist/counsellor who might benefit from supervision with me as a requirement of my training.
My practice is underpinned by the 7-eyed model of supervision and leaves a lot of room for exploration; no stone will be left unturned, the unseen made visible.
Whilst I am in training, I am charging a nominal fee for our work together.
Practice description
As a therapist, I am able to draw from a wealth of experience across approaches and counselling settings. I work trauma informed, have a good understanding of the body-mind connection and a keen interest in neuroscience.
I have worked in the NHS, for a low-cost service, in a hospice setting and for Women's Aid/Solace, supporting women who have experienced sexual and domestic violence.
I see my role as a supervisor as a natural extension of my counselling practice and apart from ensuring that your work is safe and to the highest standards, I am also here to safeguard your well-being. My aim is to further your understanding of who you are as a practitioner.
My first session
In the beginning, I will ask you how you like to be supervised and how you feel most supported.
I will also encourage you to 'get the client into the room' to understand your relationship with them and their unique challenges.
