About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative counsellor, I offer a safe confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings using a range of theories which can be tailored to suit your own individual and unique needs. My role as your therapist is not to tell you what you need to do, as I believe that you are the expert on you. I will accompany you on your journey and help you to face the difficulties that you are, or have, experienced. We can explore your thoughts and feelings, where you are now, where you want to be in the future and what steps you can take in order to make those changes that you want to see.
Practice description
Whether you are seeking help for a specific short-term issue, or whether you want to work longer term to work things through and explore them in more depth, you have the autonomy to choose what works best for you. You will have a voice and the choice as to what you discuss and in how much detail as sessions are client led. This means that you will feel listened to and really heard without fear of judgement.
Issues that you are dealing with may be current problems, or they may involve things that happened many years ago that you haven’t been able to fully process. Counselling can help with all of this. You may not be able to change the past, but it may be possible to view it differently and therefore have a different outlook moving forward. By talking things through you may find that you are able to discover a new perspective so that things that felt overwhelming begin to feel more manageable.
I offer therapy over a range of mediums: I can offer online, telephone or face to face sessions or a blend of these to suit your individual needs.
My first session
I am happy to offer an initial free of charge, no obligation first session which would normally last for around 20-30 minutes during which time we can get an overview of your issues, and look at ways in which counselling can help. We can talk about your hopes and aims for counselling and I can answer any questions you may have. This initial session can be face to face, online or via telephone.
