Practice description
In my private practice I provide a safe, empathic and holding space to explore your feelings, thoughts and patterns of behaviours. I take you on a journey of exploration: where you've been, where you are at, and where you want to go. We explore together what might hold you back from reaching your true potential.
Once we explore and understand what brings you to therapy, we embark together on your journey, the process of self-discovery and growth aimed to rewrite potentially toxic or misconstrued life scripts (beliefs you have inherited from your family or society). I am passionate about my relational work, aiming to build a strong, trusting therapeutic alliance that supports your moving towards what you envision as your best self.
I believe every client is unique. There is no "one size fits all" solution or therapeutic process therefore it's imperative for each client to find the right therapist for themselves.
@Trainees: Are you training to become a psychotherapist or counsellor and want support in your journey?
Having graduated my own training at Metanoia, I am excited for what lies ahead for you! And since it’s never a smooth sailing, I am here to join you on your journey of self-discovery.
Therapy was there for me when I felt nobody else really got me. I experienced first-hand the importance of having someone to listen and support whilst identifying your challenges, taking your time normalising them and finding a solution that’s right for you.
I would love to join you on your journey and support your developing the necessary tools to navigate all of life’s challenges.
My first session
Starting your therapeutic journey can be a daunting experience. Doubts may creep in about:
- what therapy might involve;
- pouring your heart out to a stranger;
- finding the time or energy for sessions;
- what others might say if they found out you are seeing a therapist; or
- why you need to talk to someone when others seem fine on their own.
Quoting Martin Luther King Jr., I believe that you do not have to see the whole staircase to take the first step. Whether you have been contemplating therapy for some time or it is the first time you look it up, I believe it is important to take that first step towards understanding what nudges you towards seeking therapy, without necessarily having a pre-set/complete plan.
I offer an initial 50-minute "no obligations" consultation, an opportunity to "take the pressure off" and engage in an open and honest conversation about what brings you to therapy, understand how I might best support you in your journey, as well as answer any questions you might have about the therapeutic process. At the end of the session, we explore the various options available, such as:
- go away and think about what you'd like to do,
- agree to come for 4-6 exploratory sessions before deciding whether therapy, and therapy with me, meets your needs,
- engage into an open-ended type of therapy that is constantly reviewed.
