About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Katrina and I am a fully qualified, BACP registered therapist in Ashford, Kent, and online.
I understand that sometimes the stresses of life become too much, and at times like these you need a space to be listened to. My private home studio is a confidential, welcoming place where you can talk freely about the issues that are weighing you down. My specialist experience also includes working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, burnout. bereavement, and addictions.
You might be nervous coming to therapy for the first time, but I am a friendly, empathetic therapist who works with you in a down-to-earth way and always maintains a sense of humour, making sure you feel comfortable and heard at all times.
If you are looking for a therapist in Ashford, Kent, or online, feel free to get in touch and ask any questions you may have.
How I Can Help You
As an integrative therapist, I draw on multiple therapeutic approaches to offer a bespoke intervention that is right for you in particular. Every individual is unique, so each problem requires its own specific person-centered solution. I will work closely with you to identify the positive influences in your life – what makes you tick – and develop a personalised treatment plan from there, always taking care to readjust our plan in accordance with your changing needs over time.
My approaches as a therapist in Ashford, Kent, and online include but are not limited to:
Person-Centered Counselling
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Relapse Prevention and Harm Reduction
Motivational Interviewing
Initial Session
Our first session is a 60-minute assessment, during which you will have the chance to walk me through the issues
Practice description
As mentioned above, I am trained as an integrative therapist with my main modalities being CBT, person centred therapy and addiction counselling. I also use transactional analysis (TA) on a regular basis which clients find very helpful.
I believe psychological education is fundamental as people need to understand why they think, feel and behave the way they do, empowering them to change and to feel less anxious and hopeless.
My first session
At the first session which I call the assessment, I will explain the therapeutic and business contracting including confidentiality, the treatment plan and session duration.
I will also ask you to complete anxiety and mood questionnaires and a risk assessment.
Your goals and expectations for therapy will also be discussed as well as any other relevant information .
