About me and my therapy practice
My approach to counselling is warm, relaxed and compassionate. I offer a non-judgemental, confidential space to talk about what is concerning you. I work with a wide variety of issues and clients from many different backgrounds. Maybe you're feeling sad, depressed or experiencing anxiety. Perhaps you are struggling with self-esteem, confidence, relationship issues, bereavement or another type of loss. I can support and work alongside you through challenging times, help you work through difficult thoughts and feelings and develop self-awareness and resilience.
Finding the right counsellor is vital for an effective counselling experience. The first few steps can be intimidating so I try to make this a relaxed, straightforward process. I offer a free, 20 minute telephone assessment to discuss your needs and talk about how I work. This also helps me to understand the most suitable way of working with you. This free assessment is not counselling but more of an information gathering session for both of us. My fees are £50 per session, payable in cash or via bank transfer.

Practice description
I work face to face, online via Zoom and on the telephone. All counselling sessions are with clients based in the UK. I am a fully qualified, integrative counsellor which means my work integrates different counselling theories and techniques. This means I can adapt my practice to your particular needs. We can discuss how you wish to work together, whether you want to talk through difficult feelings or events or prefer a focused approach, using counselling interventions and techniques. I respect my clients' individuality and will respond to whatever you bring to counselling in a unique way.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I use their ethical principles to guide my work and ensure I practice a high standard of counselling and stay up to date with current counselling techniques.
My first session
During the your first session, we can talk in more detail about what brings you to counselling, what your hopes are and establish any goals - it's fine if you don't have any specific goals at this stage!
You will have received a working agreement from me before this first session, which we will both sign. It is also an opportunity to go through any questions you may have about the agreement. I will take some basic personal information from you. Then the paperwork is complete and counselling can begin.
