Difficult experiences such as significant events, particular life stressors, or unresolved conflicts can make feel life to unravel. Or it may be that your feelings are confusing or hurting you.

In any of these circumstances, I would listen carefully to your worries, anxieties, and life narrative while holding a therapeutic dialogues that would help you gain a better understanding of yourself and find a path forward.

I offer therapy to individuals of various ages and backgrounds, and experienced in providing therapy to people adapting to parenthood (previously worked at the Parent and Carer Counselling Service London, from 2017 until December 2023).

I have a special interest in helping parents contextualise their feelings, assessing for any encounters or trauma which may affect both relations as well as parenting style, and working with people affected by divorce separation to find a strong sense of self so they can rebuild healthy relationships.

Practice description

I offer Counselling and Psychotherapy service for adults who are looking to speak about a wide range of emotional issues, such as anxiety, stress, separation or other distressing life events.

My therapeutic approach does not operate on a symptom-based and symptom-reduction model. Such therapies (like CBT, psycho-education, and Mindfulness) can be accessed through primary care and statutory services and may be more helpful for people looking for more structured interventions and in some cases for those dealing with crisis.

In contrast to the symptom-focused modalities, the therapy I offer aims to help each person to explore the roots and nature of their concerns, within the context of their life, and unique individual personal history.

The therapeutic process involves two main phases. The first, called problem assessment, includes identifying stress factors, support system, and how you cope with emotional distress. The second, referred as the In-Depth Exploration, consists of identifying emotional processes contributing to the persistence of the problem.

In term of therapeutic intervention what you may expect in a typical session is:

Address presented difficulties, explore, and identify thinking or behavioural patterns.

Helping understanding emerged themes.

Developing self reflective practice, and awareness.

One of the main aim of this kind of therapeutic approach is increasing insights that help to regulate emotions, have more control over feelings and enhance psychological resources.

Having counselling can be different for each person, and particular to their engagement with the therapeutic process and the relationship with their therapist. I offer weekly sessions and recommend committing regularly to counselling in order to make the most of the therapeutic experience.

My first session

The fist sessions is an opportunity for the person to make sure they feel comfortable with the therapist, and for them to check they have the skills and expertise to support you.

It will include introductions, contracting and a chance for the person to tell their story and explain the problems they’re experiencing. The therapist may ask a few questions in order to know what the person wants to achieve from the therapy, and how they are going to work together.
