About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Andreea Horhocea, a psychodynamic psychotherapist dedicated to helping people like you explore the deeper layers of their emotional world. I understand that life’s challenges—whether it’s anxiety, depression, low mood, self-esteem issues, or even struggles with eating disorders—can sometimes feel overwhelming. But you don’t have to face them alone.
In my practice, I use psychodynamic therapy, a powerful approach that helps you uncover the unconscious patterns and past experiences shaping how you feel and respond to the world today. Together, we’ll work to bring these deeper feelings to light, allowing you to gain clarity, insight, and ultimately a greater sense of freedom.
Psychodynamic therapy can be especially effective for those feeling stuck in negative cycles or struggling with relationships, self-worth, or mood fluctuations. My goal is to create a compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can safely explore your emotions and begin to understand yourself on a deeper level.
If you’re ready to make a change, I’d love to support you on your journey. Reach out today, and let’s work together to help you find relief, gain confidence, and create a more fulfilling, balanced life.I specialise in anxiety, depression, eating disorders, “existential crises” and trauma.
I have experience in private practice, schools, charities and NHS settings. My clients are normally struggling with anxiety, low mood, depression, disordered eating, relationship issues, ADHD/ADD related struggles and challenges around a world which isn't build for neurodiversity.
If you’re ready to make a change, I’d love to support you on your journey. Reach out today, and let’s work together to help you find relief, gain confidence, and create a more fulfilling, balanced life.

A few things you may want to know:
I work on an open ended basis which means that there is no set numbers of sessions. I believe you will know when you are ready and we will discuss an end to our work together.
Our sessions day and time will be agreed during the first session and will remain the same for as long as we continue to work together. It is important to maintain the routine and for you to be able to have some space to reflect between sessions.
We can work online or I will be able to offer in person sessions in Colchester at the same rate.
Our sessions are confidential and no one has access to your personal information other than me. I appreciate that sometimes it takes time to develop trust and I am open to allow as much time as you need to discuss your story.
There is no pressure to discuss any subjects that you may not want to approach and our session will follow a pace that you are comfortable with.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out and I will be in touch.

About me and my therapy practice
Are you a parent concerned about your child or teenager's emotional well-being? Are you a young person struggling to navigate the challenges of adolescence?
Through a blend of play therapy, talk therapy, and creative expression, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for children, teenagers, and young people to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
My therapy sessions help young people navigate these transitions with confidence by allowing the young people to explore their struggles and their emotions and move forward more confidently.
From academic stress to peer relationships and identity exploration, young people face a myriad of challenges. I work collaboratively with them to build resilience, develop coping skills, and foster a positive sense of self-worth.
My goal is to help young people discover their strengths and passions. Whether they're dealing with anxiety, depression, or social pressures, I am here to support them on their journey.
