About me and my therapy practice
Perhaps you are going through something that feels too overwhelming to tackle alone. Talking about your difficulties with someone who truly listens is the first step towards making them manageable. Whatever your reasons are for seeking counselling, working with a trained therapist can bring relief, support when it is most needed and transformative change. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you will feel seen and heard. Together we will make sense of your thoughts and feelings. I will help you to welcome emotions, discover meanings and explore options. As you gain clarity, emotional strength and confidence you will be able to make choices and see the way forward. Our work together will help you to better understand yourself and the patterns that are holding you back, enabling you to develop more authentic and satisfying ways of being in life.Practice description
I am a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and registered member of the BACP. I work using the Relational model; an integrative approach where I am able to draw on many modalities such as person-centred and psychodynamic, as appropriate for each client. Each of us is unique and so I tailor my therapy to you. My aim is to create a secure, in-depth relationship with you, where I am emotionally present, genuine and empathic. Our work together will be as a collaborative partnership. I love the opportunities this work provides for genuine connection; being fully present with another is both rare and satisfying. To be at my best for my clients and endeavour to bring this presence to every relationship, I have regular supervision (considered best practice) and a supportive mindfulness practice. My first session
I understand that choosing the right therapist for you and beginning counselling can feel daunting, so I offer a free 30 minute consultation for us to get to know each other and get a sense of whether we might work well together. We can do this online, over the phone or face-to-face in my therapy room.
