About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified psychotherapist based in Leicestershire, having trained at the Leicester Centre for Psychodynamic Counselling. I aim to facilitate a space in which people can begin to understand themselves to a greater extent through exploring past experiences. I am also interested in how our connection to the natural world can provide a greater understanding of the psyche and how this can aid mental and physical wellbeing.

Practice description

I work with individuals of any gender, relationship or sexual identity and focus on the therapeutic relationship to provide change for clients, in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

Individual therapy takes place once a week and is usually open-ended, although I do also offer short-term focused work.

Appointments take place at the same time and on the same day each week and are 50 minutes long. I offer sessions Monday to Friday and sometimes at weekends. To book an assessment, please email me at david@makepeacehouse.com

I offer online counselling and a walk and talk service for people who would like to access their therapy outdoors, in nature. I am based in Leicestershire.

Whatever it is you are struggling with, get in touch today. It's never been more important to talk to someone. You can email me at david@makepeacehouse.com.

My first session

The first session forms part of an overall assessment. This covers your reasons for seeking therapy and also provides an opportunity to assess if we feel we can work effectively together. It is my professional responsibility to ensure that you receive the most appropriate help. Should it become clear that what I can offer is not the most suitable or helpful approach to meet your requirements then I will endeavour to recommend alternative sources of professional support.

Subsequent sessions

The first 2-4 sessions continue to form an assessment. This provides us both with a further opportunity to review our therapeutic relationship. My commitment to promoting your well-being is central to the work and due to this it is my ethical duty to monitor the effectiveness of our work together throughout the duration of our therapy contract.
