About me and my therapy practice

An experienced Integrative Psychotherapist (MA) and Executive Coach (Accredited Senior Practitioner), with a warm, collaborative, and compassionate way of being. I work creatively with individuals and couples to explore how our feelings, emotions and behaviours impact our self-confidence, self-esteem and decision-making, and empower people to create the life changes they wish to achieve.

Trained to Master's level (L7) in both psychotherapy and coaching, dependent on the needs and goals of each client I'm able to combine the healing empowerment of psychotherapy with the solutions-focused energy of coaching. My approach recognises that our pasts 'show up' in the present, and is underpinned by the psychological principles of enhancing self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion to enable authentic and sustainable life change to be achieved.

Experienced in working across the whole spectrum of mental health and wellbeing, my clients range from burnt out professionals, couples in conflict, people experiencing loss and troubled teens, through to those struggling with the impact of long-term mental illness. My aim is always to empower people to believe change is possible, however far away it may feel.

The process is gentle and patient, but also curious, collaborative and interactive. We’ll delve deeply into distressing memories and the stressful challenges you're facing now, but there may be therapeutic moments of levity and humour too. Our work will include understanding the sources of your cognitive and emotional responses in the here-and-now, exploring unhelpful behaviour patterns, clarifying your strengths, and reframing any unconscious 'self-limiting beliefs' that may be holding you back from healing and moving forwards.

Practice description

My integrative psychotherapy MA training combines humanistic, psychodynamic, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) approaches to help me most effectively understand and empathise with each client’s unique background and life experiences. My broad experience, qualifications, and specialised skillset enables me to work with you to develop a therapeutic-coaching plan for each individual client that is specifically tailored to your individual objectives and optimal timeline.  A strong psychodynamic of Attachment Styles alongside a solutions-focused coaching approach enables me to get couples feeling reconnected, and working together in partnership towards shared goals.

Sessions usually take place weekly, fortnightly or monthly, dependent on your needs and goals. Much of the time we'll just talk and explore things together. Sometimes we may agree some things to work on between sessions, such as practising a new skill (e.g. deep breathing as a way to regulating the nervous system) or noticing a pattern of thinking, reacting, or behaving. We will continually review our work together and flexibly adapt as your autonomy and confidence grows.

Specialist areas include:

INDIVIDUALS:

* Anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder (type 1 and 2), OCD and compulsive behaviours, trauma, addiction

* Neurodiversity: pre and post diagnoses, including strong experience in ADHD and Autism Coaching

* Strong experience of working with personality disorders

* Workplace/leadership confidence, Imposter syndrome, perfectionism, enhancing self-belief, creating optimal work-life balance

* Emotional dysregulation and anger management

COUPLES COACHING:

* Relationship conflict and loss of connection (drawing on psychodynamic understanding of Attachment styles)

* Relationship conflict

* Infidelity and betrayal

* Infertility and parenting difficulties

* The impact of family diagnoses of neurodiversity

My first session

We will have a free of charge Zoom or phone call first (your preference). Research shows that the relationship you build with your therapist or coach is linked to successful outcomes, so it's important to me that you feel comfortable and confident that things feel right for you.

My solution-focussed approach means I will spend time listening to what you want to achieve, and we'll explore how working with me may help you move forwards towards greater fulfilment and wellbeing.

We'll identify your goals and agree the optimal way to work together, including the number of sessions we may like to plan for, and how regularly we will meet.

Sessions can be held on Zoom, telephone, and face to face, dependent on your location and preferences.  My private practice is located in Twickenham in a garden room with free parking available outside the property.
