About me and my therapy practice
At Beacon of Hope Counselling Services, I provide holistic multicultural counselling with a goal to enrich lives and help others resolve core issues and patterns of personal struggle. I believe that no matter how dark and desperate a situation may momentarily seem, there is always hope. Recognising the different lived realities we all face, and encompassing cultural sensitivity, my counselling approach is driven by building a trusting, counselling relationship based on empathy and compassion. I work with clients that are suffering or have suffered from symptoms and concerns including anxiety, stress, depression, sexual abuse, self-harm, grief, loss, trauma, relationship and behavioural concerns, parenting support, anger and aggression, and marriage and family conflicts. I provide individual therapy, therapy for children and young people, pre-marital and couples counselling. My training encompasses different theoretical orientations including person-centred therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, couple counselling and mindfulness. I tailor the therapy to fit client's needs. I utilise an integrated approach to therapy as I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” way of finding healing. All my therapeutic modalities are used best to fit the nature and preferences of the client. My personal experience of living in different cultures has enhanced my skills and knowledge to offer multicultural counselling and support. I understand counselling can be painful and uncomfortable, but what’s important is that it’s all worth it in the end. I firmly believe in a supportive, safe, therapeutic environment where your story is heard, respected, and valued. Together, we will find ways to identify, understand, and work through life challenges in a caring and empowering environment. We will explore individual concerns and create realistic counselling and therapy goals to enable your journey of healing and wellness.
Practice description
Beacon of Hope is a culmination of over 25 years of working with children, adolescents and adults across the globe. I support and encourage individuals struggling with unpleasant and painful emotions and behaviours.
I offer multicultural and empowering online counselling services that allow you to develop skills to work through your challenges.
I work collaboratively to facilitate change, enable growth and healing, minimising emotional and behavioural issues, from the comfort of your home!
My secure virtual counselling solution allows you to schedule an appointment directly online and have the entire therapy session take place online via zoom.
As someone who has worked with diverse populations, I aim to provide culturally appropriate counselling services.
My first session
The first session is an introductory session where we get to know each other and I do not charge for it. We discuss what you’re struggling with and how my counselling might help. It’s an opportunity to ask each other questions and an opportunity to establish whether you are comfortable working with me.
If we both decide that it makes sense to move forward after our first meeting, we can agree on an initial number of sessions. Some clients prefer open-ended therapy which means we don’t put a limit on the number of sessions.
Individual sessions are 50 minutes long and fee is £55. Pre-marital and couples sessions are an hour and half long and the fee is £120.
