About me and my therapy practice
A warm welcome. If you feel you need someone to talk to, and are feeling overwhelmed or struggling within yourself, relationships, and the world, I know how painful it can be. You do not need to suffer alone.
I am Nicky Sinclair, a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an evidence based therapy used for a wide range of mental health conditions including Anxiety, Perfectionism, Fear, Depression/Low Mood, Grief and Bereavement, Phobias Stress, Self Esteem, Anger Issues, and Trauma Related Difficulties.
My approach is supportive and compassionate, helping my clients on their journey of self-discovery, growth and change in a safe and accepting environment. We will work together collaboratively, in a trusting, and non judgemental way, looking at your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and how they are impacting your daily life.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a solution focused approach, with the aim of helping you to live a richer fuller life.
Practice description
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think, feel and behave.
CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can keep you in a vicious cycle. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy focuses on changing our automatic negative thoughts that can contribute to emotional difficulties including depression, and anxiety.
CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.
One of the greatest benefits of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is that it helps you to develop coping skills that can help you now, and in the future.
