About me and my therapy practice

Hello my name is Sarah and I am an experienced integrative counsellor. When I was younger I battled with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) and health anxiety. This is what made me, want to be a therapist. I know how truly difficult, and debilitating it can be, dealing with these issues. It can be scary and at times you can feel overwhelmed and isolated.

I am passionate about helping clients, I want you to know you are not alone and there is no need to suffer in silence.  We can work together to help you get back to living a full life. A life no longer consumed with fear and worry.

I am currently working in two secondary schools and have worked with staff, parents and children with a range of different issues.

I am down to earth and I will support you in a non judgemental way. I know what it feels like to be stuck and scared. It doesn't have to be that way.

Practice description

I am currently working remotely. I can offer sessions via Skype, zoom or on the telephone. I am able to offer short term therapy, or longer term open ended therapy.  I will be guided by what works best for you. I offer a free ten minute telephone session, this gives you the opportunity to get to know me and how I work. Also, to ask any questions you might have.

My first session

Sessions are 50 minutes (therapeutic hour). The first session is a great opportunity, to see if we are a good fit to work together. This gives you a chance to see if I am someone you feel comfortable talking to and want to share your experiences with.

It might be, that this is your first time talking to a counsellor and I understand how daunting that can be. I am very down to earth and I would like the opportunity to show you that counselling isn't scary. It's an opportunity to talk freely and to really be heard.  All of our sessions are confidential. I am a member of the BACP, and am bound by there code of ethics.

Anyway that's more than enough about me, I look forward to hearing about you.
