I generally work from Monday to Friday between 9am and 8pm, working online via video and by telephone does allow me to be very flexible in accommodating client requirements.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer online video and telephone counselling to adults anywhere in the UK and face-to-face counselling.
Whatever brings you to counselling, it is important that you find the right counsellor for you. Quite a lot of us, at some stage in our lives, have been in a situation where we have nobody around us we can talk to. Even though you may have family and friends who care about you, you can still feel alone and isolated or feel that you do not want to ‘bother’ or ‘burden’ them with your feelings.
Over many hours, I have learned to listen. Sometimes images, pictures, metaphors and questions come into my head or you might evoke a feeling in me and, if I think it might help you get to what you really think and feel, I will share these with you. I try to connect with the part of you that wants to feel better.
No one can predict what you will get out of working with me but people have said that they feel safe with me, appreciating my calm, non-judgemental approach and my ability to gently notice feelings, patterns and habits which has enabled them to make changes in their lives.
Practice description
I work with adult women and men of all ages but tend to specialise working with men on issues like: midlife crisis, relationships, grief, being ‘stuck between two generations’, anxiety and anger.
I have completed an accredited qualification for working online and on the telephone and this, coupled with 10 years experience working as a telephone listener, means that I have been able to make a smooth transition to working online and offer a high-quality service, either by telephone or online via a secure video link.
My first session
It is vital that working with me feels collaborative and that you feel in control of the pace of the work. You need to feel that we can build a strong working relationship together in which you can express and explore your feelings safely.
So the first session is about giving you the opportunity to see how you feel working with me. I try to gear the session around this.
We will also talk about what you want from counselling, how we can best work together, the counselling boundaries and GDPR.
