About me and my therapy practice
As a qualified integrative counsellor with over five years’ experience, I will walk alongside you on your journey to self-discovery. You may feel you don’t have the answers, or you don’t understand what you are experiencing or that some things are not making sense, and whilst that may be true on the outside, deep within yourself, I believe you have the key to unlock the answers and solutions you are searching for.
I have a passion for supporting young people, with over seven years’ experience. Nevertheless, I enjoy counselling all age groups, and most importantly I love to support clients on their journey to self-discovery. I believe in the counselling process and that given the right conditions, the power of the therapeutic relationship can bring healing, acceptance, freedom, self-love, and love for others.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers, and that is not what most of us need. What I have come to understand is that there are times when we can’t do it on our own or find our way by ourselves, what we might need is a helping hand – and that’s what I’m here for.
Practice description
I believe that every single person is different and unique in their own way, and it is for this reason I tailor each session and my therapy work to suit the needs of the individual. I use tools and skills from my training experience that sit under the Humanistic umbrella of therapy. This means, firstly, that the relationship between you as the client, and me as the therapist is of the upmost importance. Secondly, it means we will explore your experience from a holistic perspective, not just focusing on one single area. Included in this is working in a client-centered way, meaning I am led by you. I also incorporate Existentialism, a philosophical approach, helping you to better understand your place in the world, and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), which centers more on the solution and the skills you already have, rather than the problem. I also integrate a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, to challenge thoughts which can help with strategies and coping mechanisms to support change.
I offer an initial free 20 minute phone consultation and during this time, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy and what support you feel you may need. I will also explain a little more about myself and how I work. You will get the opportunity to ask questions or gain clarity about the therapeutic process. If you then decide you want to continue with therapy, we will discuss and arrange the next steps.
I currently offer online and telephone sessions, lasting 50 minutes. There is a possibility for home visits, depending on location (please discuss this during our phone consultation).

Your first session will be an extension of and follow up to your phone consultation. I will learn a little more about you, your needs and desired outcomes of therapy, and we can discuss an outline of how we can work together.
