About me and my therapy practice
We all face challenges in life, but at times these can be overwhelming, leaving us feeling stuck and not sure how to move on. Counselling can be a powerful way to find a path through and I would love to work with you on this. I see my role as not just someone to listen to you, but to actively engage with you in understanding why you experience the feelings you do and to find strategies and techniques to respond to recurring mood patterns.
I am a certified Level 3 TEAM-CBT therapist, an approach which I have found to be rapidly effective in working with anxiety, depression, addictions and relationship issues. I have trained extensively in the approach and now train others and was a member of the teaching faculty in TEAM-CBT global conferences in Warsaw, Bristol and Mexico.
As part of our work together we would carry out brief mood assessments to ensure the therapy is being effective. Results from the last year show average drops in clients' anxiety of 90% and in depression of 89% over 5 or 6 weeks.

Walking can be a great way to provide an environment to talk through issues in a relaxed and comfortable way. The pace of movement is down to what feels right for you and we might take the occasional break on a bench. Green spaces and movement in themselves have been shown to improve mental wellbeing so can offer the ideal setting to find a path through whatever you are struggling with.

I offer outdoor counselling on The Downs in Bristol, walking and talking and when necessary, taking a break on a bench to make recordings. I also offer online counselling via Zoom which, while being a very convenient way to work, also provides the opportunity to share and work on resources to help you find a way through whatever it is you are struggling with.
My first session
I offer a free phone consultation before we first meet. Sessions can then be booked and last an hour, one and a half hours or two hours, as you prefer. I usually suggest thinking in terms of 6 hours of work together. Most people find that is enough to achieve what they were hoping for, but there is the option to continue after this if you felt there was more you wanted to work on.
If you'd like to talk this through, I'd love to hear from you.
