About me and my therapy practice
I work with adults affected by chronic illness (physical and/or psychological) and/or medical trauma. Together we work to overcome feelings of loneliness, fear, frustration, and identity loss, so you feel empowered and resilient.
Do you feel alone and frustrated when people don’t understand? Maybe you struggle to find where and how you fit in society, and wonder what’s the point of everything. Whether you’re unwell or in a caring role, life can become overwhelming and feel unfair when affected by chronic illness. Perhaps you feel your life has been turned upside down and you miss the previous life you had.
Do you feel violated, invaded, or traumatised from something medical-related? Maybe you had tests or treatment which caused you distress, or you have seen someone experience a medical emergency, or you may be in a medical profession where you have been affected by what you witnessed.
These are just a few of the challenges we could explore together. I have personal experience of living with chronic health difficulties including a rare condition, which has given me first-hand experience of what it can feel like to encounter many of the concerns and feelings I have discussed above. I ‘get it’. I have spent my career caring for others in various settings, mostly supporting those who are chronically or acutely unwell, so understand different perspectives.
After having therapy with me, many clients have expressed feeling heard, understood, hopeful, and less fearful, as well as having a better understanding of themselves. We can work together to help you become more resilient, less fearful, and more confident in coping with your future.
