About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Cheryl Forshaw and I am a MBACP registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Relate trained Couples Counsellor.
I have a huge passion for helping people of all diversities and their mental wellbeing. My personal philosophy is to always act with sensitivity and integrity, be mindful of the BACP Ethical Framework, and take a non-judgemental approach with all of my clients.
If you would prefer sessions due to covid via a virtual session, I am able to offer these via telephone or zoom.
Practice description
I understand that looking for the right counsellor can be tricky.
There's a lot of choice out there and you may also have the worry of not connecting with your therapist.
I offer a service where your first session is simply the cost of the room hire (£25.00 for 50 Minutes) and (£75.00 per 50 Minutes for couples work), so you then have the opportunity to decide if you would like to continue working with me. We can also decide together if you would prefer to book in a block so that you know how much your overall treatment may cost, (Payment would just be taken after each hour session)
I carry out both long and short term Adult Psychotherapeutic Counselling (sometimes called 'talking therapies') and I use an integrative approach which means that the therapy is tailored to your needs.
My first session
When you come to see me you will find the process to be very relaxed, clear and transparent; in your initial session I will carry out an evaluation to help explore your needs and then we will agree a plan for the period ahead. This can help you understand your progress throughout your journey, including your goals for each stage.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Business coaching, Cancer, Depression, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Men's issues, Obsessions, OCD, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
