Availability
I currently have limited availability on Wednesday evenings, Friday and Saturday mornings. I offer a free, 15-minute, telephone call as an introduction to allow us to get a sense of what it would be like to work together.
About me and my therapy practice
My name is Anji, and I am an experienced, qualified psychotherapist and counsellor based in Markyate, Hertfordshire. I am empathic, caring and curious and use these qualities, alongside my comprehensive training, as the basis for my work.
Alongside private practice, I work for an Employee Assistance Provision (EAP), providing short-term counselling to staff within the NHS.
My passion is for psychodynamic psychotherapy. This way of working allows us to investigate and understand long-established patterns of behaviour that may be making life difficult for you now. We all have reasons for our thoughts, feelings and behaviour - and reflecting on these creates the basis for growth, self-acceptance and resolving internal conflicts.
I am also trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), which is a solution focused therapy, concentrating on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours impact on your overall experience of the world around you.
I will tailor our work together to best suit you, focusing on current difficulties as well as long-standing issues.
Counselling and psychotherapy offer you the chance to reflect in a safe, non-judgemental and supportive space, and to help you to shed some light on thoughts and feelings that may feel very dark.
Practice description
I offer sessions from a private, comfortable, accessible consulting room within my home, as well as remotely via Teams. You can feel free to express yourself without judgement, in safe space in which you can be heard and understood.
I work long and short term, online and in person and we will agree this at the beginning of our work together. We will meet at the same time and day each week, either face-to-face or via online video conferencing.
I am a registered member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework for excellent and professional practice. I continue to participate in professional training to ensure my work is reflective of current thinking and practice.
My first session
Following an initial free phone call, our first session will be for 50 minutes and will cost £70.
I offer a limited number of sessions at concessionary rates for those on low incomes and this can be discussed in our initial call.
