About me and my therapy practice
Sometimes life can be utterly overwhelming, therapy is a place to pause and breathe for a moment. To stop the busy thoughts clogging your mind: perhaps creating more and more upset and possibly feelings of being alone in this incredibly difficult place.
I have six years of experience as a therapist within my own private practice and within a GP setting. Within my therapy practice I sit with you, wherever you are emotionally. We build a safe space (perhaps with a cup of tea) to gradually, with my help unpack those thoughts at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I work in a completely non judgemental, free space that works with whatever you bring in a non directive way. I believe everyone is different and will work hard with you to work through and untangle those thoughts and feelings together so you don't need to feel overwhelmed by them anymore and you feel that you have that support and space to work out what is going on and explore that.
I also keep a few hours every day free for emergency appointments (same price) so you have that feeling of support as and when you need it.
My background is working as a therapist within a GP practice for a number of years and have experience helping people with a variety of difficulties: suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, low moods, family and relationship difficulties, along with anxiety and depression.
The huge benefit of offering phone/zoom therapy is that you will have lifelong support, wherever you move to in the future or wherever you life takes you, you will be able to count on my support throughout. I like the thought that this would make you feel less alone in those overwhelming challenges you are facing.
Practice description
It is important that whilst searching for a therapist you find someone you can trust. It can be daunting the idea of opening up to someone about aspects of life that can be and so it is important to take your time in choosing someone who you feel comfortable and safe with. This is why I would encourage seeing a few therapists for an initial session to make the choice that will enable the kind of therapy that works best for you and your needs.
Since working through Covid I have found that there is a strong preference amongst my clients to continue online on zoom, it enables less time travelling to and from appointments and can be done from the comfort of home. Some of my clients prefer phone sessions where they will go for a walk and so that is also an option. At the moment as a result of this I am only offering zoom and phone sessions.
My first session
The first session will be a relaxed chat about what you are looking for in therapy and a chance for me to answer any questions you have.
