About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative therapist, I am passionate about good mental health and believe that therapy is not an off-the-shelf solution, but a personal experience that allows you the time and space to truly understand yourself.
I work 1:1, either face to face or online, with adults, teenagers and younger children exploring issues that may leave you feeling anxious, affect your self-esteem, or just stopping you from living the life you want to live.
I strongly believe that therapy is not only for those times when we feel less than able but is useful at all times of our life. Working with issues that we have, however small they may appear, is important and helps us build the resilience we need to meet day-to-day challenges.
With a background working for a not-for-profit organisation dealing with all mental health concerns for children and adults and a charity specialising in complex trauma and survivors of domestic abuse, I am able to bring a wealth of experience to working with all clients.
Practice description
My approach to counselling is based on person-centred therapy. Person-centred therapy relies on the therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and the client to facilitate growth and change. Using this as the core basis of therapy, other techniques will be integrated to offer a personal service for adults and young people.
In addition, I am a qualified Rewind Therapist. Rewind therapy is used for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, phobias and anxiety providing a technique that helps reduce or remove PTSD symptoms quickly without having to talk about the traumatic incident.
For young people struggling with anxiety, bullying, bereavement/loss, exam stress or overwhelming feelings, knowing someone is there to talk to without fear of judgement and in confidentiality, can be all the help they require. Sometimes more guidance may be needed, but when this is carried out in a safe and supportive environment, we can see real positive change occur

About me and my therapy practice
As a qualified CPCAB Level 6 supervisor I work pluralistically, from a strong person-centred base. My ethos is to work collaboratively on the personal and professional issues you bring to supervision, creating an environment that offers opportunity for development, growth and reflection. I use experience gained in private practice, teaching and working for national charities to support and offer perspective on the issues you face in your practice or learning.
I believe that the key to great supervision is the relationship we develop as we work together. This relationship creates a safe place that allows us to consider the issues that our work can create, promoting resilience and greater understanding of self. This greater understanding enables us to meet our own needs, the needs of our clients and other stakeholders.
Models of Supervision: I use a pluralistic approach but draw on Stoltenberg and Delworth Integrated Developmental Model and Hawkins and Shohet Seven Eyed Supervision Model
