About me and my therapy practice
Hello
I’m Sarah. I’m a qualified trauma-informed counsellor, based in North Kent. I work online exclusively, so it doesn’t matter where you’re based, we’ll still be able to work together if I'm the counsellor for you.
While I work with a wide range of people and areas, my particular passion is supporting people who are childless-not-by-choice or who are affected by infertility.
My passion and deep understanding of the issues we face in the therapy room, come from lived experience. I provide an environment, where you can feel supported and safe because of that awareness.
I work on a short term or long term basis, depending on your needs and with flexibility in mind, because life still happens outside the therapy room.
Childlessness can often be the trigger for seeking help, but I find that many times there is so much more going on then just that. I have experience of the following circumstances too:
- Anxiety, worry
- Depression
- Stress
- Grief
- Infertility
- Miscarriage
- IVF or other fertility treatments
- Hysterectomy or other major surgery
- Menopause
- Sudden changes in circumstances, such as the loss of a job, divorce
- Feeling lost, a lack of motivation or just feeling dissatisfied with life in general
- Low confidence, low self-esteem or self-worth
I’m a person-centred counsellor, which means the sessions focus on you and your view of the world. In essence, you’re the expert on you, I’m just here to walk alongside and safely support you, as you explore and work through things.

Practice description
I work online using Zoom or over the telephone.
During the free 30 minute initial consultation we will explore what you would like to achieve with counselling and we will agree to an initial number of sessions.
Usually when working with someone that is childless-not-by-choice, we start with 12 sessions and then regularly review to see if you would like to end before this, or continue on a more long term basis.
Given the deeper nature of childlessness, this can sometimes be months or years, but it's in your control to pause, stop or continue.
I offer weekly, fortnightly and monthly sessions.
Fees
Each 50 minute session is £50
My first session
I start with a free initial consultation for approximately 30 minutes.
This is your opportunity to share your expectations of counselling, ask me any questions and get a feel for whether I'm the counsellor for you.
This is perhaps the most important part of the process, because it's important to choose the right counsellor for you. The relationship and trust that is developed is integral to supporting you while you work through things.
