About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor working in Newcastle up on Tyne.
I know it can be difficult opening up and sharing painful memories and overwhelming feelings with strangers, I can provide you private space where you can externalise the internal thoughts that you have been having and enable you to process them, this will happen at your own pace, as I understand it takes time to build trust and confidence to open up. Together we will explore your feelings and I will stay alongside you in your journey of self discovery.
I believe that we all know what is best for us, and that we can make the changes we want in order to feel happier and more content, my role is to help you to make those changes and to become the person you want to be through the process.
I work in an integrative way which means that I aim to tailor the counselling to suit each client, using a variety of approaches such as CBT, Gestalt, psychodynamic and attachments approaches as well as some creative ways.
My background is specialising in work with Black and Asian families, I have 30 years of experience in working within the Asian communities and understanding the cultural and religious pressures on people, I understand struggles within families, generational gaps, traditions and coming to terms with the western cultures.
As a counsellor I will help you explore your feelings, I will listen without any judgement, and hope to work with you and try to bring about positive changes to your life.
I can offer 20 minutes free consultation for you ask any questions you have

My first session
I offer 20 minute of free consultation, the first therapy session is 50 minutes long, it is a time when we can get to know each other little bit, I start my session with doing a progress chart where I ask you what you want from counselling I help you to identify the issues, for example emotional regulation, anxiety, low self esteem depression, post traumatic stress, trauma, these are some of the issues we identify at the first session .
