About me and my therapy practice
An integrative psychotherapist who works with a trauma informed approach. This means that I work looking at a person's past experiences and how these impact upon their present relationships, health and life in general.
This can illuminate patterns of behaviour, emotions or psychological difficulties which may have formed over time that contribute to finding things hard going, anxiety provoking or just bleak. I have a background and current practice in setting up psychological services in a variety of organisations, but I returned to practice psychotherapy as the crucible for individual change lies within the therapeutic relationship.
Practice description
Trauma is of special interest to me, and can sit beneath many signs, symptoms and many diagnosis of mental and physical distress, including anger, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, isolation, difficulties in relationships or a sense of under achieving at work/life, to name a few. Trauma is stored in your body in a variety of ways which requires an integrative approach, including experiential approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR). My approach is to work with you to identify the memories and psychological difficulties that you are experiencing and agree how we will work to resolve.
