About me and my therapy practice
I work with people who experience anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem/confidence, relationship dynamics, emotional regulation, trauma & abuse. People who relate to diagnosis such as EUPD/BPD, GAD, Bipolar Disorder, ASD, PTSD, OCD & ADHD.
Using a person-centred approach to counselling, I am able to gain a deep understanding of what is important to you. This enables you to take back control and gain understanding in your life within a safe and compassionate environment. I use relationship dynamics and developmental theory to help you understand how your past affects your daily living, explaining behavioural patterns and negative cycles of events. This can highlight coping mechanisms and defences that may be holding you back in achieving the life you wish to lead. This leads to developing your self-awareness and self-acceptance. I work with you to increase your view on 'self' working with Self-worth, Confidence and Self-esteem. Anxiety, self-harm and self-neglect are all ways in which some people cope with overwhelming emotions and we can explore those triggers together to find different cycles and healthier self-soothing actions. I use compassion therapy techniques, a trauma informed approach and work with you on emotional regulation. I am trained in David Moss's non-invasive Rewind technique for treatment of trauma flashbacks and dreams.
I offer face to face in clinic appointments in Grantham, and a UK based online service using a secure and confidential web/video system that can be accessed through a smart phone, tablet or laptop/computer.
