About me and my therapy practice
'How are you?’
How often do you reply truthfully to others and to yourself ?
Therapy is a journey of change, recognising the truth of how you really feel in a supportive, confidential, non-judgmental environment, empowering you to find your own voice, confidence, knowledge and awareness. Reconnecting with these enables you to move forward. Allow yourself regular time in a peaceful space away from the demands of life to talk in private with someone who is objective and impartial. As an integrative, person centred psychotherapist you are the complete focus, I use a flexible approach to fit your needs.
I provide a relaxed and safe environment, working creatively and holistically exploring different ways of expression that talking doesn't always reach, this is effective for both adults and young people alike. I have over 20 years experience working with children and young people/ adults.
Practice description
My experience includes anxiety, depression, historical & lived trauma, childhood trauma, PTSD, Complex Trauma and abuse, bereavement, panic & stress, loss of purpose and self- worth among many other issues.
My Space is a non-judgemental space to explore thoughts and feelings about issues that matter to you.... Sometimes we find it difficult to cope with our day-to-day lives, which may be due to current circumstances or issues from our past. Counselling is a chance to explore issues in a safe and confidential environment. We can work together, at your own pace, towards your goals. I listen with empathy (by putting myself in your shoes), whilst allowing you the space to reflect and explore your thoughts and feelings. Through counselling you can gain perspective about the issue(s) troubling you. Together we will explore these issues and consider what might be stopping you from reaching your full potential. The aim of the counselling process is to enable you to understand and accept yourself, to change your behaviour to that which is more productive and rewarding for you, and to help you move towards becoming the kind of person you want to be.
Trauma is the physical, emotional and psychological response when a person experiences high levels of fear or stress without having the chance to escape or mobilise (move away). Trauma is a stress response that remains frozen in time within the person. The mind is an amazing tool. However, if you are effected by trauma symptoms, trauma counselling enables you to talk through your experience and the issues that have become 'stuck'.
I aim to provide a space where you can begin to explore your trauma while feeling safe, listened to and emotionally held. You will learn how to be more grounded in the present, to recognise your resources and skills, and to build on these and feel safer in the present. Trauma therapy can help you to understand trauma symptoms, and to start to work through your experiences.
My first session
Just call or email me to set up an initial session, if I am working then simply leave a message with your name and contact... I WILL get back to you as soon as I can. I appreciate the strength that it has taken to make the call and therefore I want to make your initial contact simple. During our first session we will talk about what you want to get out of counselling, your wants and needs; discuss our work together and confidentiality. If they're happy to continue we will set up a second session, and arrange to meet weekly/fortnightly.
If you find initial contact difficult then please feel free to email and state if you prefer a call back or email.

About me and my therapy practice
I absolutely love my supervisory work ! I enjoy being part of your journey and your work with your clients.
I am an integrative practitioner and truly believe and see my clients and supervisees as individuals. Models of counselling supervision are varied; I draw on these and offer supervision that is adapted to how you as a supervisee would like to work, and what suits your working practice. I see supervision as a joint endeavour in which the supervisor works with the supervisee to improve the quality of their work, continuously developing themselves and their practice.
I offer Supervision across the UK, to individual counsellors, trainees, workplaces, NHS and more...
I also offer workshops and training for counsellors and work places.
I believe in making our relationship as equal as possible and so I am happy to discuss with you what you require from supervision. I will work with you in a way that meets your needs and is appropriate to your level of training and experience.
I am a professionally accredited practitioner with NCPS and a registered practitioner with BACP.
Practice description
I draw on my integrative training, creativity, play therapy skills, and skills and knowledge of working with all ages and abilities. My aim is to promote and safeguard the well-being of both my supervisees and the people they work with. Therapy is demanding and rewarding work. I aim to help my supervisees grow and learn, build their confidence and competency and celebrate their successes. I offer a valuing and nourishing presence which allows reflection, exploration, challenge and insight to take place in an affirming, creative and good humoured manner. Supervision is a professional service and in a similar way to contracting with clients we will discuss and enter into a contract/working agreement which we will talk over in the first session. I work within the Ethics and Codes of Practice of BACP and NCPS.
I work with Children and Young People (for 27 years), adults and also specialise in Trauma. My clients include the NHS, First Responders, Veterans and Serving Military, Young People in Referral Units, University students, College students and children.
