About me and my therapy practice
Self-esteem and Confidence Counsellor.
Do you feel like you are holding yourself back, putting yourself down and not living the life you really want?
Would you appreciate discovering how to be your “real self” without putting on an act and learning to like and respect yourself?
My name is Matt and I am a professional and qualified counsellor, here to listen and providing you with a supportive, confidential and safe environment to talk.
I work with people who have identified that they have feelings of low self-esteem or low confidence and want to make changes so that they can live their lives in the fullest way possible.
Practice description
By providing a safe, confidential space to talk open and honestly, counselling can help you understand yourself and the setbacks you have faced.
Counselling can also provide a way for you to see your thoughts from a different perspective and time to safely confront and process feelings.
My experience is that the best counselling helps you to find your own solutions without judgment, leading to greater self-acceptance and hope for a better future.
Maybe you have exhausted yourself by always putting other people first, or you feel shy and uneasy when interacting with people, or feel you don’t stand up for yourself at work or at home. Perhaps you feel pressured to live up to the expectations of others, whether that be family, friends or society in general.
I can help you identify what you need, express who you are and to take control and tackle your difficulties on your own terms.
My first session
What to expect in your first session with me
I work with clients online, on the telephone and face to face. I have a warm, calm and caring approach, focussed on what is important to you and working with you to explore next steps rather than "telling you" what to do.
In our first session, I will ask about what you want from counselling and how I can help. You may find it useful to think about or write down your reasons for seeking help in advance of this session, although there is no pressure for you to do this.
You can ask any questions you may have about counselling and how I work. We will talk about confidentiality and session timings so that you are clear about what to expect from me.
Next step
Thank you for reading through my profile and I hope you have found the information I’ve shared is a useful starting point.
If you would like to find out more about how I could help you and what counselling could bring to your situation, then I am happy to discuss this with you.
I understand that making this first step can be daunting, uncomfortable or scary, so please be assured I am mindful of this and will not put you under any pressure.
Please contact me for an informal, no-obligation chat on the phone, where you can ask any question you may have and we can discuss how we might work together.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi I’m Matt Dix, an experienced counsellor, supervisor, coach and trainer. If you are a student or recently qualified counsellor and need counselling supervision for either face to face work or your online or telephone practice, then I look forward to exploring whether we would find it beneficial to work together.
I know from my own experience the importance of finding the right supervisor, who you feel comfortable with and who helps you grow and develop your practice.
As a counsellor registered with the BACP, my background is integrative with a particular focus on a person-centred approach. I am currently in private practice working face to face, online and via telephone as a counsellor and supervisor and have worked as a counsellor and group facilitator in various agencies and for the NHS. I have also delivered counselling skills training for CPCAB and am a professional coach. You can find out more about me at www.mattdix.co.uk.
I invite you to reach out to me on matt@mattdix.co.uk to arrange a session. We can then meet up online and you can let me know your requirements to support you in your work with clients.
