About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Carrie, I am a qualified and BACP Registered Counsellor.
Trained in person centred therapy, I predominantly offer this to my private practice clients as the mode that I work in. Alongside my private practice, I am an affiliate counsellor for an EAP organisation and coming towards the end of my clinical supervision training. My affiliate work gives me an alternative approach and understanding to therapy. When in the room with a client, I will sometimes bring in tools from my tool box, in the form of creative techniques and a more directive solution focused therapy if appropriate.
In a life before counselling, I went to university where I studied for my BA honors degree in Education Studies with Identity Studies and then went on to work in the Education Sector for many years. I work predominantly with clients age 16 and over have a particular (but not exclusive) experience and interest in neurodiversity.
Each client is unique in their needs, meaning that sessions are personalised to you. Whether this be face to face in my office, online via zoom or working together using creative techniques, sessions are client led.
Practice description
Counselling can be both difficult and empowering.
Firstly, thank you for dropping by my profile. I see each person as an individual, acknowledging and respecting the courage it takes to open up and talk about your feelings. I am able to provide a safe and comfortable space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgemental environment. I also offer online counselling sessions if this is something that works better for you.
I believe that you are the expert in your life, I am here to help you realise that. I have experience of working with young people and adults in a person centred way, working with clients of varying ages with a range of issues such as bereavement, childhood, inner child, loss, trauma, anxiety and depression. I work with adults and young people who are high school age upwards. In a previous life before Counselling, I worked in a variety of educational roles leading me to have many years experience of working with children and young people.
We all have mental health and we all have physical health.
Anxiety and physical health can often be closely linked; we often look for support if we are struggling with our physical health and I believe that it should be as acceptable and accessible for support if struggling with our mental health - please get in touch to arrange your free initial session.
Please be mindful that my emails can land in junk/spam box.
My first session
Free initial 30 minute introductory session, face to face or online, whichever best suits your needs.
Individual sessions cost £40.
Limited concessionary rates may be available - please enquire.
The initial session will give us the opportunity to meet each other and look at what you would like to get out of counselling. If you're happy to continue, we will book the first session. Sessions are carried out on a weekly or biweekly basis unless agreed otherwise.
Evening sessions available.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thanks for stopping by my profile!
A little bit about me
Trained in person centred therapy, I predominantly offer this to my private practice clients as the mode that I work in. I'm also an affiliate counsellor for an EAP organisation, giving me an alternative approach and understanding to therapy. When in the room with a client, I will sometimes bring in tools from my tool box, in the form of creative techniques and a more directive solution focused therapy if appropriate.

I work predominantly with clients age 16 and over have a particular (but not exclusive) experience and interest in neurodiversity.
If you feel that you would like to be supported, listened to, gently challenged and encouraged without judgement in your supervision, then please do get in touch. I use the 7 eyed supervision model - looking at the client, the therapist, the supervisor, the relationships between therapist, client and supervisor, and the wider system.
Supervision sessions can be held either online via zoom or face to face at my office in Wigan. Sessions are £55 for 90 minutes. I offer a reduced fee of £45 per 90 minutes for counsellors in training.
I also offer a free 30 minute, no obligation intro session. If you would like to arrange a chat to see if we could work together, please do drop me a message or email and we can work out a convenient time and day.
Please be mindful that my emails sometimes land in junk/spam box.
