About me and my therapy practice

Welcome! I am a Neuro-affirmative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and  I offer a warm, relaxed and empathic space to help you develop self-understanding, compassion and acceptance in the face of difficult life experiences.  I work with a variety of issues including anxiety,  relationships and family, bereavement, trauma.

In addition to my private practice, I have experience working in a variety of therapy and psychology services; and significant experience in working with grief, loss and illness, including: an NHS secondary mental health service, a national bereavement charity, and a local hospice.

Practice description

I work with adults and adolescents 18+.  I am an integrative practitioner and experienced in approaching each client individually.  This includes drawing on Person Centred, CBT, Attachment Theory, Existential Theory and Transactional analysis.

I have a particular interest in working with individuals who are Neurodiverse (they may have Autism, ADHD or other types of neurodiversity) and also their partners and/or parents and carers.  I am on the National Autistic Society's List of Counsellors however, I do work with neurotypical clients too.

My first session

The first session will include an assessment to introduce you to the process and establish how we will work together.  Some people need just a few sessions while others may have long-term psychotherapy.  Together we will decide if I am the best person to work with you.

Sessions are always for 50 minutes.

All work is contracted and held in line with ethical guidelines of BACP.
