My working hours are relatively flexible. Sessions will be arranged at a mutually agreeable time and place, during a free of charge twenty minute consultation.

About me and my therapy practice
Life can be challenging and choosing the right therapist may seem like a daunting prospect. Are you overwhelmed by information or confused about who to contact? Let me simplify things and tell you about myself and how I work:
I am a BACP Accredited integrative therapist (with a core Gestalt modality); I work with clients from 11 years+ I work with individuals, couples and families. Being an Integrative therapist allows me to concentrate on each individual client and adapt my practice in accordance to their needs. What sits at the heart of each therapeutic encounter is the relationship.
As a natural empath, my background is in the caring profession, having worked with both young people and the elderly. All work undertaken is either face-to-face, online (using Zoom), telephone and walk and talk; I have a fondness for nature and for that reason, I offer outside sessions in a mutually convenient destination (with or without my therapy dog); forest bathing and mindfulness is becoming increasingly popular and scientifically proven to aid our mental health.
I have over twenty years of extensive experience working with young people; sessions offered are individual, couples and groups; group sessions focus on anything from anxiety, body image, anger and low self-esteem.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I undertook specialist training in online and telephone work enabling me to take my practice online. Moving with the times is important to me and for that reason I regularly partake in CPD workshops focused around a variety of different topics. Examples of recent CPD workshops are:
Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention
Mindfulness Meditation and Forest Bathing
LGBTQ+ Awareness
Postpartum Depression
Neurodiversity in the Therapy Room
Practice description
My work centres around the therapeutic relationship between myself and the client. I will use a combination of CBT, Person Centred and Gestalt therapy. I will encourage reflexivity around your self-awareness and review every six-weeks to ensure you are gaining what you feel you need from the sessions. There is no time limit on therapy and we will go at your pace.
My first session
During your first session I will ask you some assessment questions. This will enable us to map out a treatment plan for you and give you the opportunity to ask me any questions you might have.
A contract will be issued for you to sign if you are happy to do so. This will have contact details for next of kin and will give you practicalities such as payment details.

Practice description
I have two therapy rooms in different locations. I am mindful that not all clients are able to relax within four walls; for that reason, I do offer walk-and-talk sessions amongst nature. I have therapy dogs called Winston and Stanley who accompany us during these sessions if requested.
Similarly, if you are unable to attend sessions due to disability or other reasons, I am happy to come to you (terms are discussed prior to this happening).
My first session
After an initial, free of charge consultation, if you feel comfortable and think we can work together you will have your first therapy session. During this session I will ask you a series of assessment questions and go through what you would like to get out of therapy. This is your opportunity to tell me what goals (if any) you have and for you to be able to ask any questions you feel need answering. This allows us to collaboratively create a treatment plan that best serve your therapy needs.
If the session is with a young person (under 18) I will read my safeguarding policy out and ensure the young person and their parent have understood this. If the parent/child feels more comfortable with the parent present, I do allow this during this initial process.
