About me and my therapy practice

Life can be challenging and at times we all need some help. I offer you a calm, non-judgemental space to explore, understand and worth through your concerns, with the aim of supporting you move toward greater wellbeing and fulfilment.

From the start I endeavour to help you feel comfortable and understood. So often, what's stopping us move forward is below the surface or what we're holding back. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to express yourself, explore your experiences and uncover what's underneath. We'll work at a pace to suit you.

Whether you have clear aims and goals or a more vague sense of simply wanting change, we'll work collaboratively towards you creating change that is meaningful to you.

Some of the things you may gain through our work together:

  • A clearer understanding of yourself and circumstances
  • Seeing things from different perspectives
  • Discovering strengths and resources
  • More acceptance of yourself and others
  • Improved communication and healthier relationships

My Approach

My approach is integrative, which means I draw on a range of theories and skills to adjust the work to suit you. I work with you as a whole person, mind, body, emotions, behaviour, spirit (with what that means to you), with consideration for you in the different contexts of your life over time.

Practice description

I offer one-to-one appointments in-person, online and by telephone for adults aged 18 and over.

Sessions are for 50 minutes and you choose how many sessions you have. We may work in an open-ended way, with therapy ongoing until you feel you’ve gained what you need. Alternatively, you may prefer to set a limit on the number of sessions. Usually this would be shorter term work, perhaps 6 to 12 sessions. We would then structure sessions to suit.

While therapy generally works well with meeting weekly, especially at the beginning as we’re getting to know each other, I recognise we all have different circumstances. I am happy to discuss other arrangements and offer sessions on a more flexible basis if that suits your needs better.

My Qualifications

  • Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling

My first session

The first session is an opportunity for you to get a sense of what it’s like to talk with me and whether you feel we'd suit working together.

We'll talk about what’s brought you to seek therapy and the changes you’d like for yourself. We can discuss how I can help you and my approach with the work. You can share any preferences you may have, for example, if you prefer time-limited or open-ended therapy.

We'll also clarify working arrangements, including confidentiality and privacy, payment and cancellation. I'll email you details of these when booking a first session.
