About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my profile. You may feel a bit anxious about seeking counselling and overwhelmed about how you can get started. Well done for taking the first step. You are not alone in feeling sad, anxious, confused, or low. Our lives continue to be affected like never before. You may have lost a loved one during the pandemic, or feel increased anxiety and isolation since COVID. The pandemic or cost of living crisis may have caused difficulties in your relationships to come to the surface and you are finding it difficult to cope with everything. Does any of this sound familiar?
Counselling will provide you with a space (and maybe some long overdue "me time") to explore your thoughts and feelings in confidence. Counselling will help you to cope at a time when things may appear out of control. You may be struggling with the direction your life is going and talking things through with a counsellor will help you to realise the changes you want to make to lead the life you deserve and be happier and more fulfilled.
I completed my MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regent’s University and my dissertation was a research project on the topic of personal resilience. As an integrative therapist I use several modalities, focusing mainly on person-centred and psychodynamic theory. I have also completed many specialist courses on topics such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), anger management, suicide, and PTSD.
I have supported clients with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, bereavement, complicated grief, coping with loss, trauma, problems from childhood, personality disorders, identity, lack of self-esteem, search for meaning in life and work-related stress and anxiety Further information about me and how I work can be found on my website: https://upminstertherapy.co.uk

My first session
I appreciate that making that first step towards therapy can be a difficult one. Also, the relationship between therapist and client is the key to successful therapy.
I offer a free, no obligation initial call for us both to explore whether I can help and to answer any questions you may have about me and how I work. If you decide to go ahead we will then agree a regular time to meet.
