About me and my therapy practice

After working in the City for 25 years I retrained as an Integrative Therapist. This means that the work we do together is bespoke and tailored specifically for you, utilising a range of therapeutic approaches. Whatever you are bringing into therapy we can explore those issues in a safe, confidential  and non-judgemental space. 

My background means that I understand the realities of working in a high pressured environment. I have also learnt the importance of taking time out to take a step back to reflect on how we are living our lives. It enables us to examine what is working and what is not, what we are afraid of letting go and the fears that prevent us trying something different. 

I often work with clients who have reached a stage in their life  where they feel stuck - whether you are suffering from stress or anxiety, have relationship issues or just a sense that something does not feel right, we can work together to explore these issues. 

In addition to my therapy work I am also a Personal and Executive Coach which means that our sessions can also focus on future goals as well as the issues which have brought you to therapy. I believe that working with a combination of both can not only help us explain the reasons for feeling as we do but also create practical options for how we can move forward. 

Deciding to work with a therapist can feel a little overwhelming and I think that is vital that you feel comfortable with the person that you are going to work with. Therefore I offer a free 60 minute consultation over Zoom to start to get to know each other, explore what brings you to therapy now and decide between us whether we can work together.

Practice description

At times life can feel overwhelming, uncertain and confusing. Often this can feel like too much to deaI with on our own.

I passionately believe that both therapy and coaching can be positive vehicles for change. My experience of working as a senior executive in the City for over 25 years has shown me how important it is to give yourself the space to reflect on your life and begin to make the changes that you desire. 

Working with me will give you a safe and non-judgemental space to begin to remove the obstacles for growth. My role is to listen, to hear and to begin to understand your world so that we can move forward together.

I feel that it is important to understand the root causes of our underlying issues so that we can begin to think about how our conscious and unconscious patterns of behaviour may be limiting us from living the life that we want. 

But I also feel that awareness alone is sometimes not enough and we will also work together to think about how you want to move forward, what tools will help you do this and so begin to write the next chapters in your story.

My first session

Our consultation session will primarily be about getting to know each other. I will ask you a few questions about what has brought you to therapy and the changes in your life that you are looking for. You will also have the opportunity to ask me questions about how I work as well as all the practical details. 

It may be hard to verbalise exactly what is going on for you but that is fine and we can use the session to explore that. 

After we have spoken we can think about what sort of approach will work best for you - whether it is a time limited number of sessions focussing on a particular issue or more general open ended work. 

I work face to face at Chancery Lane on Mondays and on zoom the rest of the week.
