About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified BACP registered counsellor supporting clients with a wide range of issues. As an integrative counsellor, I work with you drawing on a number of approaches and techniques to reflect your individual needs. I understand everyone has their own unique struggles and experiences and sometimes it feels difficult to process our thoughts and feelings. I work respectfully at a pace that feels right for you to enable you to understand yourself more fully.
Maybe you have experienced loss or trauma that was out of your control and your ability to cope has been impacted. I aim to provide you with a space that feels safe, a supportive space to explore what is going on for you without the fear of judgement. Clients say this is hugely beneficial as they begin to feel heard and understood.
This unique space may be somewhere you can cry, a confidential space where you can speak about aspects of your life that may have been hidden, a space to get angry or even laugh, whatever you may bring to counselling I will support your needs.
I see my role as being alongside you on this journey, where we work collaboratively and explore your choices and any changes you wish to make towards living a more fulfilling life.
I have provided counselling at Well Women in Wakefield, which is a women-only organisation. I have also worked as a counsellor at Cruse Bereavement, working with bereaved adults and have experience supporting 16-25-year-olds working as a counsellor at Selby College.
I have specialist training in Eating Disorders and have completed the Master Practitioner course in Eating Disorders and Obesity with the National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCFED).
I am an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Practitioner. This is a practical therapy that involves using fingers to tap on acupressure points and can be used as a self-help tool away from sessions. Please let me know if you would like any more information about this.
Practice description
I work using a Humanistic approach, where I believe that with the right support, everyone can gain the capacity for growth and change.
I place a great amount of emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and believe quality is key. I hope for you to gain understanding and insight as I support and encourage you to find your own solutions as you embark on a new journey.
I may suggest working creatively, as with all counselling you do not have to do anything that doesn’t feel right for you.
My first session
Taking the first step can often feel the hardest when life feels tough and you may feel alone. It can take a huge amount of strength to reach out. I assure you I will do my utmost to enable you to feel comfortable by creating a warm, safe and accepting atmosphere to enable you to build trust and rapport to establish a connection for therapeutic work to begin.
Please feel free to contact me by email, text or telephone and we can arrange a 20-minute phone call where you can ask me any questions. This session is free of charge with no obligation and allows you to ask any questions and decide if you would like us to work together.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, incorporating the range of training and experience that I have grown and developed over the years. I run a private practice in the outskirts of Leeds where I offer sessions in person, online and telephone. As a BACP registered therapist, I work predominately with the Person-Centred approach, working relationally, I incorporate a range of Humanistic modalities including Transactional Analysis and Gestalt. I am also an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Practitioner. I am interested in attachment theory, trauma work intertwined with psycho-education, mindfulness and creative work. I am developing my knowledge of Internal Family Systems.
My therapeutic practice focuses on the relationship, which is at the core of my work. I aim to mirror this as a supervisor to understand and meet your needs. Supervision can sometimes feel like a vulnerable place, I aim to offer you a supportive, collaborative, and compassionate space where you feel safe to bring all of your client work without the fear of judgement. It takes courage to feel discomfort; however, rest assured, your transparency and vulnerability will only strengthen you and your client's work.
Practice description
I use the ‘Seven-eyed Model of Supervision', developed by Hawkins and Shohet (1985). We focus on relational aspects between the client, therapist, and supervisor whilst integrating systemic ideas by looking at the interplay between each relationship and its context within the wider system. Working collaboratively, we understand the therapeutic relationship in different ways to strengthen your client work, enhance your practice and empower you and your clients.
