About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Elcin, and I’m a fully qualified and experienced British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) registered therapist. My Dorking practice is located on a quite spot overlooking the beautiful Surrey Hills. I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and offer both short-term and long-term therapy for adults. You can book to see me either face-to-face or online, depending on what suits you best.

Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or stuck.  Life can throw unexpected challenges our way, and sometimes emotions like grief, guilt, trauma or anger can feel too heavy to carry alone. I’m here to help. I provide a safe, confidential space where you can explore these feelings and take steps towards improving your mental wellbeing.

I'm passionate about supporting my clients. I will gently help you uncover and challenge any unhelpful beliefs that may be holding you back, while guiding you towards developing tools to cope and grow. Together, we can work on helping you feel more empowered and back on track.

Please be assured I will only ever work at your pace and be guided by you throughout our time together. To discuss your needs, feel free to give me a call on 07930403885 with no obligations.

Practice description

I work with clients on a whole range of issues including depression, anxiety, confidence related problems, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, sexual abuse, PTSD, relationship difficulties and family problems. I am also highly experienced in working with cancer patients, their relatives and elderly people with health problems.

We cannot change past events but we can change how we cope with them in order to lead the most fulfilling life possible. My counselling style integrates understanding how past life experiences may be impacting on the way we cope with current issues and explore alternative ways to handle them. My aim is to support and empower you in a safe and confidential environment.

My first session

Our first session can be an opportunity for both of us to find out how we fit and think about working together in the best way that suits you. I can help you view yourself in a more constructive way, recognise the origin of your issues and make different choices for yourself.

I'm here to help you break free from unhelpful vicious cycles by challenging negative thinking patterns and guiding you towards more constructive ways of viewing yourself and your world. We’ll work on modifying any beliefs that may be holding you back and creating healthier ways of thinking.

I’ll also help you reflect on how your past might be influencing how you feel now. I believe that by understanding these connections, you can reduce emotional struggles and build a greater sense of awareness and resilience.

No matter how challenging things feel right now, I believe in your ability to grow and thrive. I’ll support you in viewing yourself with compassion, encouraging self-reflection and self-acceptance, and helping you reach your full potential.
