About me and my therapy practice
We can all get stuck in unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, stuck with miserable feelings that don't seem to change. It can be painful, frustrating and even frightening. Stress, anxiety, sadness, depression, anger, fear, frustration, doubt, confusion – these are all are part of being human but they can get in the way of living a full and satisfying life. I believe you deserve to be content and I know counselling can help. Taking some time to work through difficulties helps to get them into focus and brings understanding, and with that comes the possibility of change. I will listen, I will not judge and I will do my best to help you identify and make the changes you want to see in your life.
I am an accredited, integrative counsellor.
I also offer EMDR, a technique to rapidly process trauma (single or complex), abuse, anxiety, depression and other sources of distress. We can generally process a difficult memory in 6-12 sessions.
Practice description
I work with a range of issues from general unhappiness through to stress, depression and anxiety, bereavement, abuse and loss, to trauma. You might want to think through a difficult decision, navigate a challenging change in your life, work on your moods, or deal with a major life event or life stage. We can focus on your identity, your relationships, unhelpful patterns of behaviour, or work on a traumatic experience and its impact on your life – the choice is yours.
I can provide integrative counselling, EMDR or a mix of both, to suit your needs. I often find that using EMDR to neutralise a memory makes counselling more effective, more quickly.
My first session
I offer a short or long-term counselling relationship, in a safe and confidential space. To see whether we can work together, I suggest we have a brief phone conversation to start with. I will address your questions and we can agree a way forward.
