About me and my therapy practice
I am Gen, a fully qualified, registered Humanistic-Existential Counsellor.
My own multi-cultural background and my lived experience of adaptation and loss in different countries helps me gain deeper insight into the ways that clients cope with transition, changes and loss. Throughout my life and different careers, I came to understanding that purpose and meaning of life continually change.
Working as LSA (supporting children requiring extra support and care) at schools I understand the challenges the parents and teachers go through, not realising the "burn out". As a result of my own experiences, my passion is to help others to overcome challenging times, consider new perspectives, develop their full potential, discover a deeper sense of their purpose and meaning.
You may lost a loved one and never be able to say goodbye due to lockdown. You may moved to a new country or find working overseas challenging when leaving behind your loved ones, places you used to visit. Feeling confused, you want to make sense of what is going on for you, figure out what you really want in your life.
I help people to find acceptance and a meaningful way forward. I am here to encourage you on your journey to overcome a stressful period by providing a safe space where you can gain clarity. Working together in therapy I guide my clients to explore the source of their issue and help them to find solutions to overcome their problems.
I fluently speak Russian and English, and in my practice, I work with a diversity of clients, tailoring my approach to match each unique needs.

I practice a non –judgemental, respectful and empathetic approach as I believe this creates a safe environment in which we can work together to explore and examine any difficult feelings and problematic issues that may be causing you distress.
I'm interested in hearing about how you’ve experienced the world around you, including important relationships and events that have shaped you. I'll listen carefully and ask gentle and respectful questions in order to discover the strengths and resources you have inside you, working compassionately with the issues that matter to you.
We will build a safe and trusting relationship together, so that you feel able to talk about your concerns without being judged and so we can discover what might be lying underneath the issues that brought you to therapy.
You may want the opportunity to be heard, to explore thoughts, feelings and fears or look at new ways to find perspective, gain self-assurance and the possibility of making new, emotionally-secure choices. I also offer telephone counselling.
Everything discussed is treated in the strictest confidence.
My first session
In my private practice I work online through secure video platforms. I see clients for 50 minutes counselling sessions on a weekly basis. We can meet for short-term therapy to address specific issues or on a long-term basis for a deeper exploration of key issues and healing over time at a pace that’s comfortable for you.
Working online (video sessions) offers many advantages to you as a client including:
• You can choose the right therapist for you, rather than having to pick from those closest to you geographically (although please note I only work with clients based in the UK).
• You can be comfortable in your own surroundings with no need to travel to a counsellor’s premises, and may feel safer and more at ease to talk.
• Physical disabilities or psychological difficulties are no barrier to you getting the support you need.

I can help you to address issues that are causing you emotional pain, or making you feel uncomfortable. About me and my therapy practice
I am Yevgeniya (aka Gen), a fully qualified, registered Humanistic-Existential Counsellor, as well as CBT therapist.
I work with a variety of issues, specialising in trauma, loss/bereavement, helping my clients to find purpose and meaning after traumatic loss.
I love working and helping neurodivergent individuals. Instead of focusing on perceived ‘deficits’, I invite clients to see neurodiversity that individuals' brains work in a different way. That doesn’t mean that how they think or process things is ‘wrong’ - it’s just different from neurotypical ways of thinking. Neurodiversity as a concept works with the idea that there isn’t anything that needs to be ‘fixed’.
Your life experiences may left you feeling anxious, lonely or isolated so now is the time to get some support; to help you find your strengths. It can be a great relief to share your worries and fears in confidence without feeling judged or worried that you are burdening someone with your problems.
