About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling overwhelmed or stressed? Perhaps you want to make changes in your life but do not know where to begin? You are not alone, many people feel this way before embarking on a journey of self-discovery through counselling.

Hayat Counselling gives you a space to talk, share and to make sense of your feelings. Challenging your thoughts, the way you perceive yourself and how your life experiences have impacted your journey so far can increase your self-awareness, confidence and improve the relationship that you have with yourself and others.

Counselling can facilitate major changes in peoples’ lives; changing unhealthy patterns in relationships and at work for example. Taking care of your mental health is so important, especially at this time, therapy allows you to make sense of difficult feelings and clear the path ahead removing obstacles that may stand in the way of you living a fulfilled life as your authentic self.

I have an understanding, accepting and genuine way of developing a therapeutic relationship with my clients. At Hayat Counselling, I provide a space to clients free from judgement to process difficult emotions and experiences. I facilitate my clients’ journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. I support others to find their voice and develop their assertiveness and believe that everyone has the ability to achieve personal growth. By supporting clients to recognise and challenge how they perceive themselves, I help them to find their authentic self and realise their potential.

Practice description

With many years of experience of working in mainstream and special education and health and social care, I have a keen interest in working in a person-centred way focusing on the individual’s needs and goals. My experience of working with children, young people and adults who have cognitive and physical disabilities has meant that I have been able to promote and support the neurodiversity, individuality, dignity, respect, and rights of the individuals I have worked with.

I am passionate about diversity and cultural issues.I have a special interest in helping clients who have challenges with self-esteem, and those who feel marginalised or have experienced discrimination.

I am a qualified BACP registered Person-Centred Counsellor and registered Counselling for Depression IAPT practitioner (CfD-PCE).
